So I've read a few forums which conclude:
1. Breastfeeding burns an average of 650 calories, of those 650 calories, we need to replace them with an 500 calories back into our diet and the balance 150 calories will be taken from our reserves from the weight gained during pregnancy. So basically, by just BF we should lose 150 calories per day, which this is based on the assumption your sticking within a 2,000 cal diet per day.
--->Mock diet :
1500 cal
+500 BF cal
=2000 Daily Intake (B4 exercise) ---->So 2,000 calories give or take, needs to be consumed daily
2. Now how do you all feel about eating the calories you've earned, by exercising daily?

1500 cal
+500 BF cal
=2,000 Daily intake
(minus 400 cal from exercising)
=1600 Daily end intake
Do you feel it will increase your metabolism or encourage maintaining your current weight? Let me know what has worked for you guys!

I think 2000 is a good place to start to see how your body/milk supply responds! I've been doing 1800 for the last 3 weeks, and have lost 2-3 lbs a week. My doctor said 2500 is the recommended amount for maintaining while exclusively nursing, and didn't recommend going under 1800. He also cautioned to stay very well hydrated when cutting calories. Oh yeah, my doctor also said to eat your exercise calories back to make sure your net stays above 1800. But I've read many different opinions on that.0

I definitely don't want it to affect my milk supply, however I want the scale to decrease.
The idea of eating back your exercised calories, kinda defeats the purpose to me...but I'm always more hungry though0 -
How do you add breastfeeding to the application? Sorry i am just starting and I am trying to find a way to subtract the calories I burn from breastfeeding...any ideas?0

Oh you can add it in your food diary, by just typing or searching for breastfeeding and it automatically subtracts the calories from your intake.0
