Opinions?
I was thinking 5-7, especially considering his predecessor and his light sentence. I can't say I disagree with high sentences for govt officials... what kind of society do you set yourself up for when they can get off easily? I hope more follow suit. I am a political skeptic, but I do see that every little bit helps. I'm sorry for his children but he made his bed.
P.S. I am a bit tipsy so I can't formulate a good argument at the moment, but I know what I mean in my head

I think he's terribly corrupt and should never be allowed to work in a government office again...While i definitely think he should serve time, i think 14 years is a bit much.
He tried to sell Obama's seat, not slaughter babies.
I dunno, i just think this country is pretty jacked up...people do much much much worse crimes and get much less harsher sentencing's.0 -
Then again, those that have worked for him in the past in other government jobs said he was just as corrupt and lazy back then. I don't see the 14 years as punishment for just his current transgressions but a lifetime of them. Additionally at a time when Illinois needed a hero to step up and lead us from past corruption he vowed to be different. That to me justifies a harsh punishment. It will be a few years before we see just how this impacts us, such as tollway increases. Given it is a government job I wonder why we can't just claim these acts as treason and just execute them?0
