Weekends...

I always struggle on weekends, so I am preparing mentally on how I am going to make this weekend different. I am planning my meals ahead of time to make sure I stay within my calorie count and scheduling my workouts...

What is everyone else going to do differently?

    I am actually planning everything right now LOL. It gets really hard, but you are right planning meals and scheduling workouts is a great way to stay focused. I am even baking kale chips right now so I have, we usually do friday family movie night, so I don't dig into chips or popcorn, I will have my kale chips :happy:

    I also don't so as good on weekends. My whole family is home and my hubby is a very picky eater, so I tend to make food that he likes and I eat something different for my self. What kind of things do you like to eat. I love to have oranges and apples on hand, they are a great snack.
  • We are expecting substantial amount of snow tonight and frigid temperatures. I’m going to do a quick grocery run to stock up for our weekend menu. Weekends are also my downfall even though I do put in a great workout with my trainer on Friday nights and Saturday mornings.
    My plan for the weekend is to keep busy around the house, cook all our healthy meals and spend quality time with my boys and husband.

    Weekends are hard for me also. I did great last week until the weekend. We went out with friends so I had a couple of drinks, we were invited to my in-laws for dinner; socializing and dieting don't mix well for me. It's too hard to stay focused.

    Also, my schedule when at home is not nearly as structured when I'm working. I am cooking more and eating more. I'm hoping for a good weekend. I've been planning my weekend meals in advance and am looking forward to a few good exercise sessions.

    What are Kale Chips?
    I buy the bag of Kale (the veggie) kind of like in the spinach/collard green family. pre-washed and cut. I wash it again, dry them well then I put it in a bowl sprinkle some salt and a little olive oil and mix it all so it al gets some olive oil. Then, spread it out in a baking sheet and I bake it slowly. Depending on your oven, some ovens have the fans in them, mine doesnt, I put the oven on for like 300 degrees, maybe like 20 mins. you have to keep an eye on them or they burn. But once they are done, they taste crunchy like a chip, of course not as good as a potatoe chip, BUT great substitute, plus you are getting your veggies in LOL.

    I like this! I am going to give it a try! my finance LOVES his starches and it kills me! Cheesies and Chips are like a staple in his diet... This might become my substitute. I also eat Mini Rice Cakes in the butter popcorn flavour, the crunch in those also helps!

    I get up and workout right away because I know I can get busy later in the day. I have a hair appointment today and will be busy later so I just put some chicken in my slow cooker so I will not be tempted to eat out for dinner. Good luck this weekend. :)

    My weekends are usually the roughest too. I usually kind of take a break though when its the weekends. I still watch what I eat, but just not that closely because I know that if I don't get in my little craving sometime in the week i'll go farking crazy lol

    Yes try them if you are in the mood for chips. Won't be the same, but at least the texture is. I made mine and my daughter accidentally dropped them on the floor. I will have to make more soon.
