I'm so confused. Where the heck did Muslims come into this?
So sorry, Bahet. You made a derogatory comment about a Mormon, not a Muslim. Still just as bad, but my apologies for the mistype.

No... I made a wise crack about a Mormon. You chose to take i as a derogatory comment. Would it be OK if I told you my dad's side of the family are Mormon?

I think christians have an impoverished world view based on superstition and mysticism. If you it takes believing in the afterlife and fairytales to make you happy, fine, but I'm happy without it so I hardly think I'm impoverished since I embrace reality. I could sit around my house and pretend I'm a billionaire as well. Sure, I'll be happy, but it's still not true.

As far as the Repubs go, it's a train wreck. I don't think I have ever seen hypocrisy on this scale before. Not saying I don't have big problems with Obama, but I thought it was hilarious that after years of hearing conservatives complain about Clinton smoking pot and dodging the draft, they elected a chicken hawk coke head like Bush. NOW they are going to do it again, after years of complaining about how Clinton wasn't morally fit for office because he had an affair with an intern, they want Newt, a guy who was impeaching the President for the affair, then leaving those hearings to get a BJ from his mistress while his wife had cancer.

At this point, I'm pretty sure that if Fox News endorsed Jane Fonda as a conservative, you could convince the vast majority of Republicans that she was the best choice for their nomination.

Are you serious? No, it wouldn't be ok! My sons are half Hispanic but if I ever made a "wise crack" using the term wet back it would still be wrong. To be honest with you, I was really surprised to see you make that "wise crack". I believe that you know full well that "wise crack" is used in a derogatory manner and is offensive.

You haven't followed the thread well. If you think there's nothing wrong worth Bahet saying something about magical underwear about a Mormon isn't wring and derogatory, then I don't know what else to say to you. Nice try, but it's not the same thing as Jeff Fixworthy telling redneck jokes, but I think y'all know that. Or at least I hope you do.

    What's the difference?

"The Book of Mormon" just won 9 Tonys. It's sold out for at least 6 months in advance. Those offensive jerks.

I don't think Bahet said anything that was hateful, and I don't think the people who made this musical were hateful either. I saw them on Letterman and they were anything but hateful.
