The "for the [gendered noun] threads"

They annoy me. The degree to which they annoy me vary. Today it's rather a lot for no particular reason. You know the threads. The one's that are titled "For the guys" or "for the lady's.' When, in fact, what they really mean is "For the straight guys because my heteronormative perspective doesn't allow me to realize that a kinsy 5 man isn't likely to care about how sexy my stretch marks do or don't make me."

In their defense, I suppose "for the guys" is shorter, but I always end up feeling duped and completely left out. I'm a guy, and presuming orientation necessitates finding someone attractive or not, I don't care about how sexy your stretch marks don't make you. If it makes you feel better, though, stretch marks don't make men any less sexy for me.

They used to annoy me too... until I saw the hapless moronic replies that spew forth over pages and pages until someone says something so crass the thread gets locked.

I do still read the message boards from time to time, but normally bite my tongue rather than respond.

And heaven forbid... outside this group... that you say one for the gay men out there!
