Hi I was wondering if anyone was able to recommend a heart rate monitor watch, I 've been told they can give a more accurate reading for the amount of calories burnt off when exercising than the mfp one does, any help welcome

My daughter has just bought the Polar FT4, she says it's great and easy to use, she bought it on Amazon for about £50, I plan to get myself one some day!!

I've just taken delivery of a polar fs 2. I didn't want to spend a fortune n wanted something I could wear to swimming. A couple ofpeople had suggested this brand and I used it for the first time tonight. I noticed it seemed pretty accurate when I compared it to someone elses cals on the same exercise x

I bought one from Aldi, 'Crane' brand with a chest strap. it was only about £20 last year. You have to watch out for them as they only get them in occasionally. I don't know how accurate it is compared to the bigger brands (polar etc.) but it seems comparable and is very motivating. I am eventually gonna treat myself to a fancier one, just cos I'm a sucker for gadgets!

Hi, I use a HRM with GPS. I have found that when the info is entered correctly most of the time the difference in calories from MFP prediction and HRM is only a few calories out so not a major difference at all. Though you can pick up a basic HRM watch pretty cheaply.

I got a Sigma Onyx from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sigma-Onyx-Balance-Heart-Monitor/dp/B000W45GE4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327652663&sr=8-1

I think it's brilliant, it comes with a chest strap and counts calories burned once your heart rate is over 100.
