Anyone thinking about picking up Final Fantasy XIII-2 next week?

Im thinking about it but im not thrilled who main charaters are going to be but i heard the combat system is better and is pretty sweet but the story still weird as hell so im on the fenceAnyone thinking about picking up Final Fantasy XIII-2 next week?0 -
Yeah I think I'm the same way. It looks flashy as all heck and apparently the battle system has been improved. I swear I had carpal tunnel after switching between so many darn paradigms last time.0

I heard even though the battle system has improved, the story line is a joke. They try to deus ex machina everything by using the "time" aspect. I play RPGs for story, more so than game play. I might wait before I pick this one up.0

i wasnt the biggest fan of the panagrams,but i heard its more linear now and no caps so you can just keep leveling. Also I wasnt the biggest fan of the summoning battle system. I hate the fact I only had so much time to summon my monsters0

personally I think they need do what they used and do a new FF. Personally I would like to see a game like FF IX , one of my fav in the series.0

I'll be picking it up, the games aren't as enjoyable as they used to be but I'm still a sucker for them.0

I know I'm on the fence too, I tried the demo and it wasn't bad...but didn't blow me away either. But I've bought every FF on console since I was a kid...0 -

We stopped at one of our local Gamestop's and they were pitching FF XIII-2, and when we saw the two prices: $79.99 and $59.99, we told them, no thank you its too expensive and we would rather wait until it comes down to a more reasonable price.
Of course they tried saying how you get "Tons of totally free stuff when you purchase the $79.99 package", I looked at the kid and said to him "Even adults like us know what it means to budget ourselves, and both prices are out of our budget, we will wait just the same, thank you"...
Im actually happy they did this rendition. I felt the first game missed ALOT of opportunities to close up some gaps they had in the game... I wasnt happy with Serah's 'line' of things to be honest and Im actually looking forward to her 'journey' to be more specified... I know in one of the gaming magazines my husband and I receive, Square-Enix received ALOT of grumbling complaints about how there wasnt enough to give you a full scope of the player's background... so FF XXIII-2 was the answer given to the FF fans...

Yeah, read that in the GameInformer review. I loved the first game despite its linearity. I had such high hopes for the sequel, so I'm kind of bummed. I love love LOVE Lightning (I even cosplay as her XD) and that fact that they decided to push amazing characters like Light and Fang into the background and make annoying derps like Hope, Serah, and Noel main characters makes me angry. Seriously Square, wth? At least the Moogle's cute.
This won't be a first-day buy for me, but I'll definitely be getting it. Because I have a weakness for Valkyrie Lightning.0 -

Word... Without the story I might as well just play an action game. I cringed so much playing XIII, I might not pick this up...not until bargain prices at least...
And though Lighting looks pretty bad *kitten*... I just don't have it in me for Hope round 20 -
I haven't opened my copy yet, but you don't play with the original cast as far as I know. It's just Serah and a new guy named Noel.0

I'm a little iffy on it, I might wait until it's cheaper and my "pile of shame" is smaller. I have way too many unplayed games to justify picking up another

Really?! I thought IX was the worst of the modern day FFs, i.e. VII onwards. The ultimate summon, the uber tough to get one...did less damage my basic mug attack?Pffttt..
I loved X and X-2...i liked XIII up to the tower in chapter 11/12 i think it was, so i'm interested to find out more about XIII-2...0 -

I'm even more anxious to see the complete reboot of Final Fantasy 14 MMO , it's going to be rebuilt from the ground up with all new engine and gameplay.0
