Hello Groupies!! Welcome to the Sexy for Summer group!!
We started way back when (in September) when we embarked on our journey together with the goal date of February 14th, 2012. We've reached it, over come challenges and have come out the other side lighter and full of success. Now we're ready to embark on our summer challenge, looking forward to getting to know new teammates and seeing the results that our hard work and determination produce.
There are only a few things to remember:
1. This group is always open!!
2. Weekly weigh ins are due by midnight Sunday night.
3. Support and respect are what we're about here!
4. Be loud, be proud and GET 'ER DONE!!
Please post your welcome's, info and starting weights here!! Our first weigh in will be on Feb 19th (the chart posted on Feb 20). Let's work together to feel sexy for summer!

Starting Weight: 165 lbs
Challenge Goal Weight: 155 lbs
Biggest Success: Knowledge and adapting
Biggest Struggle: Not beating myself up when things don't go as planned...
I have a tentative challenge goal weight of 155 lbs. I am secretly wishing that I can obtain my final goal weight of 150 lbs by then, but with the recent turn of events, I don't want to put that kind of stress on myself. So we'll take it from here and see where it goes.0 -
Starting Weight: 154.8
Challenge Weight: 145
Biggest Success: Making smart choices in general which, in turn, leads to weekly loss...even if it's just .2 lbs.
Biggest Struggle: EXERCISE! I want to, I just can't seem to get motivated.
A healthy BMI for my height is 145lbs, so this is my initial goal. That being said, if I plateau at a weight above that, I hope that I can be happy with it. If I get to 145 and feel that I should lose a couple more pounds, then I'll re-evaluate my goal.
Good luck to all!0 -
Starting Weight: 155
Challenge Weight: 135
Biggest Successes: I've lost 70 lbs. since April of 2011. I finished 30 Day Shred. I reached my Valentine goal.
Biggest Struggle: Getting enough sleep!
My 20th High School reunion is at the end of June. So, other than my main goals of being healthier and feeling great about myself, that will be a great motivator. lol
That's about a pound a week. My weight loss has started to slow down from an average of 2 lbs. a week to 1 pound this last week. I think it is doable. I already feel so much better about my body. 148 is my b-day goal for March 20. So anything after that is a win for me. Good luck everybody!
Thanks, Jersey, for all that you do for this group.0 -
Starting Weight: 190 lbs
Challenge Goal Weight: 170 lbs
Biggest Success: I need to think about this a little bit
Biggest Struggle: Motivation
I didn't do very well with the Valentines challenge, but I'm not going to beat myself up about it. Just jump back on that horse, right. I've had a very stressful few weeks and I seem to have a lot on my plate right now. I just signed up for an online course (eek, I'm pretty freaked out about this, but I can do it!!!), while working part time, taking care of the kids and family, and keeping up with the house. While trying to fit in time to exercise. Any help and support would be awesome. I seem to do really well for about a week and then slack off. Trying very hard to break this cycle
Good luck everyone. Thank you also, Jersey for setting all this up and being awesome! I can't wait to feel sexy for summer!!0 -
When is the last weigh in? Sorry if I'm missing it. :0)
Not sure what to make my goal yet.
I guess end of June?0 -

The first day of Summer is June 20th, do we want to make that our final weigh-in?0 -
First official day of summer sounds good to me. so 18 weeks give or take a day?
Starting Weight: 155.2 lbs
Challenge Goal Weight: 140 lbs (this is actually my overall goal currently... and at less than a lb a week... should be obtainable????
Biggest Success: Realizing I needed to start actually doing something and adding strength training to my workouts.
Biggest Struggle: Continuing after a screw up... and upcoming surgery ... 19 March...0 -
Starting weight:146 (also, evidently, my "stuck" weight).
Goal weight: 136
Challenges: NOT blowing off a day because I mess up a little. PATIENCE is a challenge for me. Frustration is a challenge. Emotional eating is a challenge. My restaurant-lifestyle is a BIG challenge.
Strengths: I love to exercise and do it every day to feel sane.
I know my body is comfortable at the current weight. I have to gently nudge it to become accustomed to a lower weight "decade"-- the 130's.0 -
Sorry guys! We had said July 1st as the end date in our other thread, but if June 20 works better then we can do that too! Please let me know!!0

Biggest Success: When I get into a routine, I cruise
Biggest Struggle: My fitness regimen (running) has gone out the window, back problems tracing back to my teen years. I really need to figure out how to adapt to my new restrictions (and more importantly, avoid spinal surgery this year)
I'm OK with either 7/1 or 6/20 end date0 -
I'm okay with either final weigh in date. June 20 is my 20th HS reunion, so I would probably be pushing for my goal by then, anyway. Makes sense, too, since it's the first day of Summer. Good luck, again. To all of us.0

Starting weight: 218
Goal weight: 180 (2 pounds a week. I should be able to do that easily if I behave.
Biggest Success: I've lost lots of weight in the past. If I'm focused, I can lose quite easily.
Biggest Struggle: I'm my own worst enemy. I comfort eat a lot. I need to focus.
I didn't do well in the Valentines Day challenge. I actually GAINED a pound over the 14 weeks. Not good at all but I'm going to do much better this time.0 -

Hello everyone! I am coming in late, but I would love to join!!
Starting Weight: 123 lbs
Challenge Goal Weight: 110 lbs
Biggest Success: Committing to a workout regime regardless of my hectic schedule.
Biggest Struggle: Having patience and not being OCD with losing weight which has led to eating disorders in the past.
I am 5 feet and I have been in the 118 to 123lbs range for a while now. I started working out heavily in October and I have put on some muscle since. I know my body composition is changing because I haven't gained weight since October, but I really want to start trimming down and living a healthier lifestyle all together.0 -
I'm a little late too! I keep missing the posts when they come out :-)
Starting Weight: 140
Current Weight: 134.6
Challenge Goal Weight: 125
Biggest Success: Learning how to work with the calories I have alotted and still eat the things I love
Biggest Struggle: Becoming obsessed with weighing myself daily
I am 5'4 and before I got pregnant I stayed in the low 120's. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage but I did get up to 140 and stayed right around there. I hate that most of my clothes do not fit and I feel strange in my own skin. This is the first time in my life that I have had to be conscious of what I ate in an effort to lose weight. I am also loving the prospect of improved health. While I was thin I wasn't in particularly good shape and I am wanting that to be different this time around. I am also learning how to cool, I'm the worst, so any tips/advice is more than welcome!
