Road ride suggestions in Georgia

I've been riding on the roads around my house for about a year now. While I love to get out there and go around my area, sometimes it gets a bit boring. Anybody know if good areas to ride in North Georgia that you wouldn't have to worry about getting mowed over by a car? I know some areas are becoming more friendly than others to bikers. Thanks in advance!

What do you consider north Georgia? I often bike in Dacula and north/east of there and find the roads are not too crowded. I feel pretty safe on the majority of those roads.0

Hti the Silver Comet Trail in Smyrna. It goes all the way to Anniston/Weaver, AL and is mostly flat (except for a short span in GA). Great Rail-to-Trail project and very well-maintained.0

I'm in the Roswell area so Dacula isn't too far away. I may take a ride up there.
Thanks for the Silver Comet suggestion. I'm actually looking for hills and not as flat. I do a few rides a month on there for the distance aspect, but I need to shock my system a bit with harder climbs. Thanks guys!!0 -
Head due north. Lots of good climbs in north GA. We've got a few of our own in south TN as well. Love the climbing!0

You asked about road riding so this is slightly off topic but I see that you are a mountain biker too. Have you tried Jackrabbit (just 5 miles north of Hiawassee in NC) and Paynes Creek (between Lavonia and Hartwell here in GA)? Both are fabulous! Jackrabbit has about 15 miles of singletrack and Paynes Creek has 7 with 3 more to be added this spring. Both are buff, swoopy, fast hardpack. These are multi use trails but were built for mountain biking. Paynes Creek is my favorite since it has some great whoop-de-do's but both are great!0
