Hello-

I used to run a lot, but not in the last 3 years. I set up my own training program for a half marathon in Sept. If possible - and without pushing myself too hard - I would like to run in the Broad Street Run (10 miler) in May. Does anyone know of a good 9-10 week program that starts with 3 mile runs?

Thanks,
Shannon

I haven't tried this (it is 12 weeks) but it looks like something I'd like to do next time I do a half. I did cool runnings half marathon training last year and it was too much (running 5 times a week).

thanks! I hadn't seen this one - I think I will try it. If I use the 12-week program for the half, I will hit the 10 mile mark in time for the race. Most of the plans I found online either require too much or not enough and 4 training days look perfect to me. I'll go to 1 strength training class a week and rest for 2 days.
  • I just read Daniel's formula and it is a great book with training plans designed by a PHD and top coach that has done tons of testing while designing training plans.

Podrunner Intervals is a GREAT program.
You could start with the 10K program
It is a free download here
