More of a "radio drama" than an audio book .. but I would HIGHLY recommend the "were Alive" podcast (http://www.zombiepodcast.com/The_Zombie_Podcast/Main.html) ... going into its third season and VERY well done ..
Just the front page of this website is awesome!! I'm only 4 minutes into the first Chapter and I'm loving it already. Thanks for sharing!!
No problem!!! I refuse to listen to them untill all 3 episodes of a chapter are done... Its far to addicting NOT too ... Cant wait for season 3 to come out0 -
Random movie updates:
28 Months Later is being pitched, given what we saw from 28 weeks, i can only imagine the carnage. 2013 projected release
Evil Dead 4, is currently in pre production... it's happening! 2013 release
Also the first pictures from the new Resident Evil movie surfaced... it looks absurd, so going to have to check it out. Sep 2012
And finally a Dead Island movie, i know Loinsgate currently has the rights but there is no script yet or info on a potential writer... hoping for an early 2013 release.0 -
with all this zombie goodness goin on Im surprised no one has mentioned the "King" of the Zombie Genre ~ Max Brooks ...
The Zombie survival guide
World War Z
The Zombie survival guide recorded attacks graphic novel
These were all great reads!0 -
Just watched a pretty good German zombie movie on Netflix last night. It's called "Rammbock". It's only an hour long but definitely worth it. They also get bonus points for thanking George A. Romero in the credits.0
-
I'd also highly recommend Max Brooks' World War Z. For anyone interested in reading zombie apocalypse kinda stuff, that's where I'd start.0
-
I'm watching La Horde now. Thanks for the suggestion. Little slow to start, but quite zombie'ish.0

Has anyone tried out the Walking Dead interactive comic game on the AMC site..., didnt have time to get into it, but from what I saw on the first page, it was kind of sweet0
-
nah, but I bet it's awesome. AMC is good about making all their stuff awesome lol.
This just reminded me I still have to read Rise of the Governor0 -
so guys, the barns full of walkers..... fyi0

Whatever you do, stay away from the SyFy original movie, "2012: Zombie Apocalypse". REALLY bad.
I just watched a great movie the other day (on Netflix Instant) called, "Pontypool".
Not a ton of zombie like action, but a really well acted drama filled with suspense.
Here's the description:
Valentine's Day is off to a bizarre start for a radio shock-jock when he runs into a crazed woman on his way to work -- and that's only the beginning. Soon, scores of other people in the small Ontario town of Pontypool start acting awfully odd.0 -
I just watched 2012: Zombie Apocolypse and I liked it for a Syfy channel movie of the week! It's on Netflix now.
Also check out The Dead which just came out on DVD. Zombie plague in a war torn West African country. There is literally a zombie or zombies in every scene of the movie. I started keeping track, after a while.0 -

Update on Dead Island movie, rumors are a buzzing on the movie being about the family from the games trailer, however no script has been officially released to the public.
Also anyone hear anything about the upcoming "Zombie Apocalypse" movie? Looked pretty crazy0 -

Yep, World War Z for sure. It's what got me into the genre. I was on a 60 day detail away from home and picked it up @ a bookstore on a whim. I've read it three times already!0 -

Just started playing Dead Island. It's like Dead Risings much cooler, older brother. None of the siliness.
Not what "zombie apocolypse" movie you are talking about, but if it's the one with Ving Rhames, it's the one I just watched and liked.0 -
The one I heard about was superhuman zombies, but only heard second hand stuff on it0
-
Wouldn't give that one a second look based on the name alone.0

it's a working title, being produced by Carlos Gallardo and Kevin Eastman. They have a decent track record.0 -
Hi
I have some book suggestions
Alice in deadland.
and for the girls the forest of hands and teeth series. These were great zombie books and I highly recommend them.0 -

I just watched both of these movies the other day also. Pontypool was very good. Not a lot of "zombie" action but the parts that did have it were good. Let's just say if the majority of a movie takes place in one room with only 3 different people and can still keep me intrigued, then it's pretty good.
I didn't have much hope for 2012: Zombie Apocalypse because it was a Syfy movie. They've also given us such gems as Jersey Shore Shark Attack and Leprechaun's Revenge. It wasn't too bad until the end. The whole zombie tiger thing was just ridiculous and lame. I wouldn't have minded the movie if they had just left that whole part out.0 -
syfy gave us the jersey shore? i was under the impression that the show was brought to us by mtv...
fyi snookie is pregnant, thanks TMZ!!!0 -
For any zombie lit fans out there....I'm about halfway through "Ex-Heroes" by Peter Clines. It's about how superheroes handle the zombie apocalypse. I've decided that if I'm going to be continue to be a fan of zombie lit I have to get over the fact that IMO zombies should not talk or act human in any way (I'm a Romero purist at heart). This book is a perfect nerd mix of super heroes and zombies. And another nerd bonus Nathan Fillion read and loved this book!!!0

I respectfully disagree that you have to EVER accept talking zombies. Bub was about all I will accept, and an occasional Return of the Living Dead zombie. At this point there's enough out there that you should be ok. I was never too big into superheroes besides Batman, and I couldn't stand the idea of Marvel zombies, but it sure was popular.0 -
Just curious....did no one see Carriers (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0806203/) or was it that no one liked it? I thought it was pretty good.
I saw it - i actually bought it because it was cheaper than renting. It was pretty good.
And right now I am reading World War Z. Pretty good so far - but only 12% (Kindle) into it.0 -
I liked Carriers quite a bit. Some very tense scenes - the gas mask guys and the ladies in the car especially.0

Personally I think Dead Island is leaps and bounds better than Left 4 Dead 1 & 2.
I wouldn't be able to argue with this because my brother lent Dead Island to his friend and I haven't been able to play it. As far as Left 4 Dead, they are awesomeee0 -
Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are hands down on the top for zombie games. I was with my brother and his two friends, we had two televisions and two Xbox's. Both televisions were turned up loud and we were screaming over the gun fire like we were actually in the game. One of his friends were upstairs (in-game) and caught himself yelling "Pipe bombs up here! I found pipe bombs...wait, why am I yelling?"
Good times...0 -

Love the Left4Dead games, but also Dead Island for a more immersive survival type games. I just wish there were more guns in Dead Island, but maybe I am not far enough in.0 -

I haven't played Dead Island, although I want to try it out. Maybe when I save up to buy a new Xbox I'll get it0 -
Lol you should, made the game even more exciting!

I have Dead Island, only played for a while though because my brother lent it to his friend and that was the last I saw of it. I personally like L4D a lot better though.
EDIT: Alsooo! Whoever hasn't read Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion, please do! Awesome book. They're making a movie out of it soon!0
