Personally, I find an older man who hasn't been married or had kids more attractive - Perhaps because it shows forethought and perhaps the desire for more than your typical 2.2 children and the picket fence. That being said, I would have no problem dating a divorcee who has up to 2 kids at the most. I'm not domestic, so I am attracted to men who are similar.

However, I personally find that the fact that I am divorced and I have one kid (at age 31) definitely is a disadvantage in the dating game. Most men around my age or mildly order who don't have kids already either don't want them at all, or want to make their own - Either option eliminates me from the running.

And this is why I've completely stopped dating.

I'll be 34 this month and I've never been married and have no kids. I'm still searching for Ms Right. I hope that doesn't make us "damaged goods". Just have faith "she" is out there man. That's what gets me through the days when I'm tired of the dating scene...

Sure, I feel that there is cultural thing, since people don't get married young as easily back here than they do in USA.

i guess for me it strikes a nerve becuz I AM the marrying motherly type. I can't wait to have a family. I'm not saying I want it now but I am looking forward to it. I think in this day and age 25 is still too young. I just feel like ppl will always have something to say! if ur single - why r u single? if ur dating - why r u dating around? u need to settle down! if u get married = why did you tie yourself down? you're too young. or if you're married = when are u going to have kids? , if u have kids = why did u have kids so early? you should have waited a bit longer. GRRR

But I think if you are late 40's... and still not married... I would assume you don't want to be, or are too picky ....
but that opinion of what age... is all relative to whom you are asking.

I am 37... single never married.. no kids- that I know of. (LOL)
I don't consider myself picky. But I am not settlin' just to fit someone else's ideals.
I have my own ideals.. and it's not to be in a crappy relationship with an even crappier man.
do your own thing... all else falls into place.
Just be happy with who you are.

No... for some it means they have been very responsible and made good choices in life. I get questioned alot because I've been single for 7 years. Yes, because I'm simply not settling. I know what I want and when I find it, I'll commit.

Honestly, when i come accross a man that is 28+ who is never married and has no children, he immediately gains scores of respect from me. Usually those men are very driven, goal minded individuals and once they find what they want, they know. And they usually treat their ladies like queens.

On the contrary, when I meet a man who is 28 and has been divorced, once, twice, etc. or has children, I lose interest. One divorce, ok. one or two kids from an LTR that fizzled? maybe. (i still won't date them though since i don't want children) but both? nah. i'll pass. just can't do it.

I'm female, 28, never married, no kids. I don't find anything wrong with a guy that has never been married and doesn't have kids. This would make me think that he has a good head on his shoulders and wants to accomplish certain things in life before settling down and doesn't want to settle.

There are certain people in my life who are always asking why i'm not married, when am I going to have kids, etc. Sometimes it makes me feel like there is something wrong with me too. But then I just have to remember that i'm not married because I am not going to settle and the right man hasn't come along yet. As for not having kids, I would much prefer to have found the right man before having any kids.

40ish, never married, with one almost grown kid here. Definitely damaged goods.

And I like it that way. I'm too old and set in my ways to manipulate or push around. I will have things my way in MY life, and if someone doesn't like it, I will show him the door.
