 Love it!
Sadly, I made the mistake of having Lydia actually come with me to some average dungeon early on. She died quickly. I now leave my other housecarls at home. My wife lives in Breezehome, so I'm not lonely there. :bigsmile:0 -

I always feel bad when she dies so I reload the game and force her to get through the dungeon alive. I hear the housecarl from Solitude (maybe) is a badass.0 -

If you're playing it on the computer you can download a mod that is called "Followers don't die". It keeps Lydia from dying when she steps in front of me just a hair before I loose an arrow. Before I loaded that mod I killed her so many times because she'd step in front of me and I'd plunk an arrow in her *kitten*. Or, she'd step in front of me just before I shouted and since she was low on life it killed her.
I haven't tried the housecarl from Solitude because I had Lydia but I did change for a bit to the housecarl in Marketh. That one is a guy and I wanted to see if he was any better. Not really. I had Lydia take care of my husband in Breezehome while my new male housecarl took care of me on the road. He annoyed me a bit too much and scared me by yelling "Hey!" so I sent him back to Marketh and took Lydia back.0 -

Not a special mod! I don't know if it does it on the Xbox, but it's a glitch on the PC. XD0 -

She actually only dies if you kill her. If someone else knocks her down, she'll just kneel down until she regenerates and people will ignore her. I've accidentally killed her a bunch of times when she steps in front of me and I kill her.0 -

One time, as a werewolf, I was running full sprint towards my target and good ol' Lydia (who surprisingly didnt run away, I think because I didnt howl) stepped just in front of me and I ended up pouncing and mauling her. The entire time of the cutscene I was like "*kitten*! *kitten*! *kitten*! STOP!!!!" Dropped the controller on the tile and broke it.. She died shortly after that =_=;;;0 -
lol mental image of her being mauled is hilarious.0

Ive never let her even leave the breezehome.........0

After that incident (mentioned above) I use ________ the Unbridged. I cant remember her name, but she is in the pub/bar/tavern in Whiterun in the far corner. The lady that killed her opponent in the trial to become a companion. She is a pretty good fighter in my opinion. But I am not super far in the game either lol.0
