March Diet Change

Starting March 1st, I'm not going to eat any red meat for a month. I've wanted to make this change to my diet for awhile and this is as good a time as any. This means that I'm not going to be eating any beef, pork, etc for the entire month. The only meat that I'll be eating is fish or fowl. I want to see how eliminating the fatty red meats will affect my weight loss, daily energy, moods, metabolism, etc.
I'll be checking in periodically on this one. Feel free to try it for yourselves in March so we can compare notes!

i eat red meat once every 3 or 4 weeks now. mainly because its higher in calories than fish or chicken and i cant eat as much that day making it hard to hit my protein goal. the only change i notice when i eat red meat vs chicken is that i am happier.0

LOL......the hardest part is that my fiance and I are going to have to hold off on getting our ribeyes at Longhorn this month!
It's only been a few days but I'm noticing a few differences. The non-red meat meals are not as filling and usually don't have as many calories. So, it feels like I'm losing a bit of my appetite. And that's probably not a bad thing. I can still eat like a football player when I want, even though I'm not working out like one.......and that's bad news.
Finding enough recipes at home to keep myself from getting bored from my diet might be a little challenging. The baked chicken with rice dinner can only last for so long you know?
I've also slept more this past weekend than I have in a while. 12 hours of sleep Friday night. 13 hours of sleep Saturday night. Not sure if that's food related, but it's something.......

It's been 2 now and I'm feeling some of the difference. My apetite has gone down, but my energy level has gone up! Over the past couple weeks, I've dropped some small amounts of weight, but my clothes are def fitting differently. My waist is going down because my pants are looser and my shirt feel baggier. This is my work/profession wardrobe that I'm talking about.
More to come......

Yesterday I cheated. I bought a plate of corned beef and cabbage from an office potluck.......and then I went back for seconds. It was sooooooooo good!!!!! That being said, I did feel sluggish up until when I went to the gym and got started on the treadmill. I'm going to reign myself in for the rest of the month. One more week to go!0

March is over. I stayed true to the no red meat diet (except that one time) and now I've lost 8lbs total. Not eating red meat didn't necessarily kill my food choices, but it made me realize how much beef/pork I eat on a regular basis. Next month I'll be continuing this and adding a little something to the mix......0
