MY Dating Profile - Why Not?

First off, my profile has been selected to be the premier profile and guidance for new members on Match because it has worked so well.. so well that I'm still on here. And Match.com peeps, if you're reading this then I'm ready for my commericial. Just may need to move the camera back a bit further than usual to get all of me and the caption must not only read "Actual Match.com first date" but "Actual Match.com date with winner of best profile, pay attention" Ok, so I'm not winning any awards, at least not in 2012, and maybe it isn't that great but hopefully it'll catch your attention enough so that you may be the one to help me get off this thing. So please, continue.
So the what I want part. Do you fit the criteria? It's only three sentences so I don't think I'm asking for too much. I'd put them into a single sentence to look really unpicky but my English teacher taught me better.
I'm looking for a professional woman with similar life and career goals. I’d prefer someone who is driven and ambitious but at the same time is down to earth. I'm into women that can carry a conversation, that know how to laugh and that have a great sense of humor.
Two things you just learned about me, first, I can count to three and have math basic math skills. Second, I don't necessarily have a type, as long as you're responsible and funny then we may be a "match".
I grew up in the Dallas area and have been living here since I was three. My family is still in the area and I see them often. I grew up with twin sisters and learned quickly that 2 against 1 is never fair. Why do sisters have to gang up on us poor, helpless brothers? Iit probably had nothing to do with me turning my sisters radio that she listened to in the morning up to full volume the night before so when she turned it on she got a second dose of an alarm clock and the sound of my full name, "Jonathan" somehow managed to pierce the airwaves. Please don't judge, it's what siblings do.
My job has afforded me the opportunity to see much of the US and some parts of the world but for some reason I still really like TX.
I work in sales and travel quite a bit. When not traveling or at client sites I work from home. New hotspots are downtown Chicago, the river walk in San Antonio, the Bay Area, San Diego and wherever else work my take me. I’m based in TX but work on the West Coast. I just got back from a trip to Italy.. absolutely beautiful country! I travel about 3-4 times a month, usually on day trips and never the weekends. The thrill of airplanes, if it ever existed, is gone, but it's nice to be able to visit different parts of the country. Oh, and I work from home. I'm sorry if you hate me for that but unfortunately it's just part of the job.
So to answer what you may be potentially thinking, and I’m always asked.. no, that’s not a typo, it is my real height.. and yes, I did play college basketball. Figured I’d get that out of the way. People tell me I'm tall every day. You'll think the same thing. Don't think so? Then meet me and find out for yourself
I currently live in the Uptown area.. was out in the suburbs before but prefer the city life. If you're close that's a plus but not mandatory. It's nice to get out and drive every once in a while.
So if you've made it this far I applaud you and if you're still interested shoot me a note and maybe something will spark.
p.s. all my pics are recent (less than a week or two old). except for the dog. that one is old. but i'm sure you don't care, in the event you do, my dog really likes that picture. so tough.
obviously match.com..

Seems like a job posting?0

nope, definitely a dating profile0

I find it a bit hard to follow and read. Might give a few more comments later (after other people).0

For me it's too long.... at first I really had no idea what you were getting at...0

I'm glad you spelled out the travel thing (that's important to know up front) and I think it's funny how you addressed your height (lucky for you, most of the ladies who answered the height question like 'em tall, lol). I did get a bit lost in the first paragraph (It's been a long time since I was on Match, but isn't everyone premier their first week or so?). Look for a message coming soon...0

Worry more about your offline dating, not your Match profile.0

I like the profile, my only feedback is that while your opening paragraph does show that you are witty and funny, someone might be turned off by you saying that your profile should be used as guidance for new members. Maybe you can rephrase that because it would make me believe you've been on Match for a while and haven't had much success.0

I like it, I think it comes across as very friendly and shows that you are looking for a relationship and not just a date/hookup. I would maybe "tighten up" some of it..i.e. some of the sentences are kind of rambly. A little extra punctuation might go a long way0

Sorry, but its too long, too negative (I know you're being humourous about the match profile winner, but it just seems like you've been on there a while and not having any success) and too sarky!! (But after reading another post the other day, I realise that a lot of women LOVE sarky!!)
I think you need to mention less about your job, and more about your weekends/time you're going to spend with 'her'!! So you could combine the two and say you do day trips during the week but would love to find someone to drink/dine/bowl/football/concerts at the weekends!!
I think the main thing that women look for is a guy that seriously wants a relationship, is available to have a relationship and who is financially ABLE to have a relationship. So mention the relationship word!!! :laugh:0 -

And you ramble too much IMHO. You can convey the same ideas with a shorter text.
My profile is quite rambly too atm... I think it's a bit of a risky strategy, as it can bore some girls. Light jokes/shorter jokes are probably better bets (one liners rather than long stories as you did).
On these websites, people have got the attention span of a goldfish.
Too much work, not enough leisure on there.
Hope you'll find someone!0 -
I liked the profile, and I'm not far from Dallas at all.0

It is alot better than many I have seen........0
