Anyone else get nauseous or headaches while playing FPSs? I can only go about 20mins in an fps on 360, which sucks because I enjoy them. Some said it was motion sickness or simulation sickness. Anyone know what to do about it, if there is anything? Can I turn off headbob / sway on 360 games?

They sometimes make me queasy. If they have a way to turn off the "head bob" action, I do that. Otherwise, I limit my time with them, and also take moments to look away from the screen for a few seconds.

Happens with every new action game I play for the first 3-10 hours of game time. And I am prone to it recurring at anytime after that.

It's the main reason I never got that into GTA4.

I know a few people with that problem. They're usually prone to motion sickness. Some of them have to stop playing altogether once they feel dizzy or nauseous, others just have to adjust to it after some time, then they can go all day long after.

I only have that problem when I sit too close to the screen when I play.

I get that too. I didn't before I had my son, so I always thought it was cuz I got "old". My son says I lost my mojo.
I take Dramamine but it makes me sleepy.

a bit - one of the big factors for my husband is actually that he didn't have glasses last time he tried to play one, so i think the fact that everything is slightly unfocused just made him really queasy in a way that real life did not. Have you had your vision checked?

I don't really get nausea, sometimes headaches if I play too long... but what does happen to me, is that if I play an FPS for a really long time, especially one that is fast moving. Later when I go to bed, I can still see the scenery moving past from the game when my eyes are closed, this has lasted hours sometimes.

I can't play, or even watch, them for that reason. I can't even play Mario Kart without getting nasty motion sickness... sad, but I have just accepted that fact and stick with stuff I can play.

i have bad eyes but never have gotten them checked - didn't even put it together that may be it. I'm sticking with the stuff I can play as most of you have mentioned, and just playing the fps ones a little bit every day. I'm really into Gears of War atm so don't want to give it up :)

World of Warcraft even has a head bob option which is so random because I would NEVER want to turn that on. I think it's too much. FPS games are so hard for me. I hope you can eliminate the issue somehow.

When I play on my PC I don't have that issue, but when I try to my 360 I get a lil dizzy. I suck at aiming with a controller anyways so PC is pretty much the only place I'll play a FPS.

I used to suck hardcore trying to aim w/ a controller, first game I tried was Medal of Honor for the PS. I stopped playing FPS on consoles until trying GUN on the xbox (2006?) and that didn't last long. I was so bad I couldn't even aim at a person standing still 5 feet in front of me. Now after playing them for a bit I still can't aim for *kitten* but at least I'm not going from aiming in the dirt to aiming straight up in the air.

Anyways, I had ran across this same topic this morning over on xbox360achievements ( http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=362575 ) so it appears to not be so uncommon. One person gave a link to an article that may help:
