This is my goal week for the end of the half marathon training program and will be running my 1st. It also happens to be my birthday weekend. It's not too late to start your program and make this a goal for you too. Any other MFPr's going?? Speak up!

I'm looking into it. Its $35 for the 10k if I register by April 24th so I am going to wait until the 20th to decide. I hate running but am doing the C25K. I'll see how well I am doing in April to see if I think I can make it a full 6 miles in June!0

I would knock out that C25K and do at least 2 5K before making that decision. Allow yourself 11 weeks instead of 9 for the program in case you have to repeat one of the middle weeks. I think week 6 in particular. If you do register, there is a 5 miler in May that will help you ease into that distance>>http://www.5dimerun.com/. Runontexas.com has a great event calender for you to set your race goal. Repost when you decide. Best of luck!0

Thanks for the pointers. I ran cross country for 2 years in high school but thats been a while so I know it won't all come back at once. I'd eventually like to do a mud run or color run as those seem to be a lot of fun and I like to play in the dirt
But yeah I'll let you know if it looks like I'm going to be able to make the June race. 0 -
I'm aiming for the White Rock 1/2 for my first 1/2 marathon. I am looking forward to doing a 1/2 but don't feel like I have the time to be ready by June 10. Great to find some other local runners though!0

And for the mud run, Warrior Dash is April 21. You can be ready!!0 -
Warrior Dash was sweet a couple of years ago but crowdededed! You can be ready for this one definitely. Wanted to run that WR1/2 last year and fell off my regimen because of work stress but that's not happening this time. What program are you going to use Mizzou? I just continued on with the Cool Running programs after the C25K and modified them to my schedule.0

My wife used Hal Higdon to train for her first marathon so I'll probably use him for the half marathon.

The main thing though is that I am going to do a minimum of one race a month and gradually increase distance so that 13.1 by December should be easy. That's the plan anyway. We'll see what happens.
