Exercise calories

I've asked this question on the facebook page and I've never gotten a response. If you look at my diary, you'll see that I like the elliptical machine and would go on it for hours a day if possible. I go over my 1200 calories a day a little on those days, but not a lot. I'm wondering if I should add another shake maybe? I have IsaPro and IsaCal coming this week and plan to add them.

Just wondering where you came up with 1200 calories for yourself? Is this what fitness pal picked for you or are you getting that from the people who say don't go under 1200? Larry has told us to take your goal weight and times it by 10. Example 150 lbs x 10 = 1500 calories. For men goal weight times 11. I was eating 1350 calories and was losing inches but not weight. I changde it a week and a half ago to 1565 found that with all the extra exercise I have been doing I needed to eat more. I am now at 1565 calories and I released 6 lbs last week. Just ensure you are eating enough calories because if you restrict too much you will not release pounds. Each person is unique you need to figure out what your body needs. it took me 6 months to figure this out for myself.
  • I'm definitely going to increase my calories after talking to my coach and her coach. I'm undecided about my goal weight. I know that sounds crazy but I've been overweight my entire adult life. I don't know what will be best for me. I know 130 is what the charts say for my height, but what if that is too thin for my frame? I'll think about it some more and increase the calories a little in the meantime.

it doesn't sound crazy! I set a goal that is higher than I ever was at my thinest, but seems like a reasonable goal just the same, at my age, the high end of a healthy weight range seems like a good goal!
  • I reset my calorie goal for 1400, with a weight of 140 in mind. I can always lower it when I get there. Time will tell.
