after experimenting with calories and points and doing really well with the calories (or so I thought) I once again lost nothing. I need to just go back to WW and stick with it because this isn't working for me. I was going over my calories by more than 6 a day, as I posted in another thread, and I guess that's just too much for me right now.
I feel like a failure for starting fresh once again but I just can not seem to lose weight counting calories. I don't know why but i need to just go back to what i know works for me and stop messing around because all I'm doing is getting fatter.

Don't feel like a failure. This is hard work, and it seems like you have to keep changing what you do to keep having results. It took me almost 9 months to lose 18 lbs, and I feel like I have to work my butt off for every ounce lost. I have 12 more to go and I have a feeling my body is not going to let go of that weight without a fight. Good luck to you0

Don't sweat it! It's okay. Really.
I count points more than calories, because it works better for me, as in I lose weight better, and I eat healthier foods. But I still use this place for the community.
Also, for me, about 50 calories = 1 WW point. So I try to keep them about even, which puts me well over the allotted 1200 calories that MFP gives me. I have 35 points, which is 1750 calories, but I keep it set at 1400. Together I do pretty well with them at those levels.
Keep heart!0 -
Thanks guys!
So I've been staying within my points. I feel like I'm eating way less than I was in the last few weeks here on MFP but I'm not hungry and I'm not tracking here this week.
I'm also working out every day for at least 35 minutes.
I did eat my most of my weekly points over the weekend so I'm considering that to be my "cheat" day if I were counting on here.
I'm also finding that I'm much happier, more relaxed and way less obsessed with this whole thing while counting points.
My weigh-in day is Friday and I'm really hoping that the scale will move (in the right direction  ).0 -
Hope it works out for you! I like what you said about being less stressed - isn't that the whole point! Good stuff!0

So without obsessing and staying calm about it I took the last few three days from WW and moved them to MFP.
What I found was that I was under 1200 every one of those days and that doesn't even count my exercise calories.
I obviously need more protein and fruit/veggies but how was I under 1200 and not even hungry?
I think I may end up tracking in both still as long as I can do it stress-free.0 -
Were those days high protein? Protein fills me up for a long time!
Good luck with the logging!0 -
No. I'm horrible at eating protein and never get as much as I'm supposed to.
Working on fixing that this week.
I did figure out if I make sure to get all my fruit and veggie servings each day that should bring me over 1200. I've been slacking on those.0 -

Thanks! WW has worked with me before. I just need to make sure I'm getting in all my good healthy guidelines. As of today the focus will be fruits and veggies. I figure if I take it a little at a time I'll do better than trying to be perfect right away.0

was just talking about this last night after WW meeting......leader had said what works for some doesn't work for all. i my opinion i think most work for everyone. it's everyone "WORKING" the plan/diet, that makes the difference. losses will be different. everyone has to find what works for them as in ease of use, instilling good/life habits, helping you deal with your downfalls.
with calories i would grab 100 calories snack bags. maybe 2 or 3 cause i had the calories. or i would eat more of the potatoes, rice, etc at dinner. now i grab the fruit, veggies for snacks. pile on the veggies at dinner. so for me i am being taught healthier options compared to eating poorly. i can lose of calorie counting, slowly, not learning. i can lose on WW a steady pace, learning what's better for me.
so the choice is yours. i go through this tossing up different diet ideas every few months. cause i am looking for the magic one. i have found there isn't one.
good luck to you.0 -
Thanks!
My online subscription is paid up until May 3rd so I want to stick with it until then if not longer.
I'm definitely eating much. much healthier today and really focusing on the ghg's.0
