Okay....
I think its time to try to set up a little fun event maybe in April.
Who ever wants to take part we can set a start date and maybe go 4, 6, or 8 weeks.
What day would you guys and gals like to start, and for how long.
Just getting a feeler so we can make this fun and enjoyable.
We can post stats in this thread.
And the best part about the challenge(s) is that only loosers will be all the calories that we will be melting away.
This will be for all skill levels.

Is April 2nd a good start date for everybody? We could run it for 6 weeks and see what happens.
I know you guys and gals want to get ready for those pools and beaches.
Some challenge guidelines for our first event:
When we start this challenge, it will not be necessary to start over on your current workout. Please continue with the program you are working on wether that is a 3wk or 9wk on EASA2 or whatever workout you are doing outside of EASA2, its okay. And keep working at your own skill level (easy, medium, hard). The difference here will be we will log our stats here in this forum (weight, inches, etc.), maybe once a week during the challenge and see where we stand. I am going to try to post a weekly spreadsheet with whatever stats we will have so its all in one place. I have seen this done on other gaming sites where they keep stats on scores. (I am still working on this part though).
I welcome any and all suggestions.0 -

On Monday, April 2nd we will post our current weight (kg or lbs) and waist measurement (cm or inches) (we will make this category optional) at that time here on this thread.
We will continue to log our weight (kg or lbs) and inches (cm or inches) once a week for the duration of the challenge. ((Weigh daily from Sunday to Saturday and post your best weight for that week.(Credit Stixx ))
Each week I will post the current leader or biggest loser in both the 'weight category' and the 'inches category'.
At the end of the 8 weeks we will weigh and measure one last time.

At the end we shall see who shed the biggest percentage of weight and inches compared to the very first weigh in and measurement.
*** Please make sure you drink plenty of liquids during the challenge ((Beer does not count, yeah you know who you are )) I do not want anybody passing out from dehydration:sad: .
*** Please workout at your own individual pace.
*** I want everyone to stay healthy and have fun.
Please make any comments or questions before Friday, March 30.
If you can weigh to the first decimal place or 10ths (example 204.1). If we all can not we will just round to nearest whole number.
And measure to the nearest centimeter or 1/8 of an inch.

You haven't mentioned Jac, will EASA2 workouts be required? I'd really rather do custom workouts on it, than a program. But I will if thats what required!
Also is the measurement thing neccesary? How does everyone feel? I have to buy a tape measure too?? lol
I'm also thinking 8 wks might be better (since MFP servers aren't shutting down!) <lolz!
I'm thinking "Biggest Loser Crazy Custom EA Workouts 8 Week Jam With Weekly Weigh Ins"
or BLCCEAW8WJWWI - For Short !
But weigh yourself in everyday, and post THE BEST weight of those days, say Sunday to Saturday..
A "wifi" scale is coming out in april, that will AUTOMATICALLY upload weight to MFP and show it in graphs. Good things coming
Its the "Bitfit aria"! > http://www.fitbit.com/product/aria
Anyway let's make suggestions! Whatever you guys decide I'm in...!
Sounds cool Jac!0 -
Ill take a guess that you're all going to be using lbs? Im a kg kind of girl ... down with the old imperial measurements I say ...however if you're all going to be using lbs I can set my scales to do that for me so I dont have to convert :-P0
-
Thank you for that twixy.
Do not change how your scale reads.
Keep using the unit of measure that you are currently using wether it is kg or lbs.
Also anybody can use centimeters rather than inches if you like.0 -
Thanks for chiming in Stixx,
A lot of good suggestions.
I guess I was just assuming that part. We will use the EA Sports Active 2, and whatever you wish to do beyond that is fine. I am going to be doing the 9wk med program and walking.
I kinda want to keep the waist measurement. I know the time duration is not that long but some might see a change in that department. We will leave that as an option maybe.
8 weeks sounds great to me also. Should we just make it 9 weeks since it kinda just fits with EASA2.
I am totally liking Stixx Title for this Challenge. Sweet. It has such a nice ring to it.
And the daily weigh in sound good to me also.
Great stuff.0 -
Will be traveling on Thursday to Sunday. I will check in while traveling when I can.0
-
Count me in.... I have been determined to start again so this will be great motivation0

Welcome to the challenge Nonna.0

Okay Jac, tape measure needed! Thanks for orgainizing this group!0
-
Just a few more days 'til event time.
Make sure you post your weight (kg or lbs) and waist (cm or inches) by April 2nd and we'll get this ball rollin'.
Check out the post dated - Mon 03/26/12 10:30 PM - for all the info.
Post if you have any questions or comments. (I am sure there are plenty of things that I overlooked).
Thank you Stixx and Twixy for your comments and suggestions.0 -
I would love to join in on this! Been using MFP since jan 1st, but just discovered these message boards last night... I still have 2.5 weeks left of my 9 week program, but I want to join you guys!0
-
Going to do your challenge. :happy:0
-
You are welcome to join the challenge embclark.
Welcome tlever to the challenge.
Just a reminder to all... if you are in the middle of a program (3wk, 9wk or Custom) when April 2nd rolls around it is okay. Keep going with you current EASA2 program to the end and start a another one after to continue.
Just remember to Post your weight (kg or lbs) to the first decimal place, and waist measurement (cm or inches) by April 2nd and have an EASA2 (3wk, 9wk, custom) workout starting or already in progress to enter into this challenge.
I hope all that made sense.
We now have 11 challengers.0 -
im in....gotta read the rules again but since I'm SOO happy to find you guys again idc about them right now... LEt the challenge begin!!
5k update: So ive been running for a few weeks outdoors now.. I am up to a good 2.5 miles @ a 11min pace.. trying for a 9 min mile by next month!!0 -

Oh Im so excited about this challenge! I start back to school on monday (April 2nd) and am taking on a full schedule, plus working ambulance when Im not in school... I was worried I would find the motivation to stick with my 9wk program. This will definately help me as I do love a challenge!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE feel free to message me and give me a swift kick if I am not showing up with regular updates... I need the support here! I have no support system at home so YOU ALL ARE IT!!!! Im sorry.. its a big job, but thats why Im here.... oh, and to hopefully help keep you all motivated too! *Insert Big Grins Here!*
Let's do this!!!
Big Smiles, Heather
PS... Will someone please describe how to measure the waist. I feel silly asking, but just want to make sure I understand where we are measuring and how. For example... I measured my waist last week. I stood tall, didnt pull in my belly but relaxed the stomach muscle and then pulled the tape around my waist at the location of my belly button. Is that correct or should I have pulled in my belly and then measured? See ya at the Stats.0
