I read the comics last year and remember meeting Michonne but can't remember what made her so badass. Anyone?

Well she walks up to the prison though a crowd of zombies, with two zombies on chains with their arms and jaws removed, this helped mask her scent from other zombies. And don't forget one of those zombies was her boyfriend. Her weapon of choice is a katana sword. She instantly becomes a very strong character and an asset to the group. She is the first very strong female character, only parallelled by Andrea who had a slower development in the comic.

I've never oogled over her like alot of guys do, but she is crucial to the Governor story line, and she experiences serious loss multiple times in the story. I think she is so loved cause guys just dig badass chics with swords.

It does have alot to do with her swordplay! LOL She is just very instinctive like Darryl. If I am not mistaken one is/was her boyfriend and the other was her ex husband.

But she is far from perfect and a closet schizophrenic! This character just has alot of depth.

Silly question...is that curls or dreads? lol I think the actress they got will look really good as Michonne. Something about her lips are perfect.

I don't think you could be walking around with zombies on leashes if you weren't a little crazy. I think the zombie apocalypse could do that to anyone. I mean look at what it has done to the other character, Carl, Shane, Glenn. That's the best part of this whole story. When s*&t hits the fan good people turn bad and bad people turn worse.

As far as her hair goes I always assumed they were braids or dreads.

I haven't read the comics but I just want to say that I jumped up off of my couch and screamed when she came into the picture! First of all, the chick is INSANE! What kind of crazy *kitten* have you gone through to hack up your boyfriend and friend and keep them on leashes like pets!? Since she ripped their jaws off, do they need to eat? Do zombies need to consume flesh to keep going? Can they starve like humans? Can they go on forever without coming across anything to eat? I know...not important.

Funny you ask that, I always kind of wondered that about Michonne's pet zombies. I would think they would still be kind of agressive basically headbutting her for a while. Maybe they just gave up and got used to her or some primal part of the memory about her kicked in. They didn't seem too agressive towards Andrea. Maybe someone else that read the coming more recently can comment.

I would like to think that it's not that they are hungry always, but more that the virus always wants to spread itself that drives them to attack the living (walker that killed dale could have just kept eating the cow), but then at times you see them kind of slow to react when they have a ready meal in their mouths (cow eaters in episode before the finale).

I know that it's already noted above but in case you don't want to see any comic book (and possibly show related) spoilers regarding Michonne and her pet zombies DO NOT read ahead.....

The two zombies are her boyfriend and his best friend. She says that eventually they stop trying to attack her and help keep other zombies away from her. It's never mentioned why they stop trying to attack her. Also when they have finished serving their purpose to her she just takes their heads off. If I remember correctly Rick asks her to get rid of them once they are at the prison and she does. I'll have to check my old comics to make sure that is 100% correct.

Remember Rick having different names for them in the comic because some were faster than others? I think that kind of applies here. Although I remember Michonne saying something about it I just don't remember exactly what. It had something to do with them becoming more docile over time. (the ones on the chains)

Your pretty much right. She says something about not needing their services anymore and lobs their heads off. I don't think he asked her to get rid of them he just said they weren't coming inside the gate with her about the same time he asked for her sword.

That all rings a bell, thanks for the refresher.

If she begins a relationship with T-Dog, it'll shore up some of the theories we have about them trying to fit him into the character of Tyrese. Otherwise, she could gravitate to Darryl, and start a whole new love triangle between with Carol and him. It's not too far off considering what happens in the comic. All wild speculation of course.

They would have to do a HUGE ammount of stretching to make T-Dog fit into Tyrese's character. I don't know if its possible, they're so far apart! They have also said T-Dogs real name is Theodore, I tend to think they won't merge them. Maybe we will see Morgan and Duane though to work into the storyline of Michonne. I feel they need to do something though because as much of a total bad *kitten* she is, in the comics it seemed important to her to be with someone and not be alone. We can only guess what's in store for season 3 and we have 7 long sad months to wait! Ugh!

So I know nothing of the series other then what I've seen on the show (never read comics) and all day I have been deliberating with co-workers about the 2 zombie pets. I thought they were to keep other walkers off her and from what I'm reading here that is correct:) It makes sense, having 2 of them around her will mask her smell and the jedi suit may make it hard for them to see her? I love this show, can't wait for #3

Nice..I hadn't read that yet. Pretty much sums up what she said in the comic.

This was helpful... she already seems pretty detached to hack off the arms and lower jaws.

    Badass?

    1. She kills walkers with a Katana.
    2. When she was introduced in the comic books she had two walkers on chains as pets,
    3. (comic book readers will know the next bit) she had the best torture/revenge scene ever
    4. She is the off-spring if The Terminator and Rambo had a child.

When the zombies attack, I want Michonne on my team.

Even though the comic books depict her as a black female, I hope no one loses their mind come the fall when they actually see her and make stupid racist tweets about it.

Did anyone read about the people flipping out about the characters in the Hunger Games being cast as black people? lol

    Michonne is awesome.

I just finished the first 8 books of the comic series, and I have to say I really enjoyed it a lot more than the TV show. They are very different. Comic Rick is badass deluxe.

P.S. There are way too many whiney white people in the TV show. I'm glad to see some people of color coming in especially in a major role. T-Dog is barely even a character at this point.

Ya i read about that, it's so awful some people say/do things like that. I loved all the characters in the movie, my only complaint was none of them looked like they were really starving.

I really think this is not the best statement to make either. What does it matter what color they are? If they are whiney as you say does their skin color really make a difference? I just wish we ALL could stop making statements based on race on either side. It really does not promote anything to single out someone's skin color. Just my 2cents...

Ps-I do agree they should use t-dog more, he could be a strong character.

HI, my name is sarcasm.... have we met?

On a serious note, yes I do think this show needs more people of color in active roles. I find that the lack of people from different backgrounds to be a serious problem with the appeal of the show. I'm tired of watching characters that are so similar in background argue over nuances and whining. I'd like to see new characters with new perspectives and yes, more people of color to add their perspective. Try as you might to say otherwise, race is still an issue in the world, and people of color bring new perspectives versus the current cast of formerly middle-class white folks with the token black guy in tow. I find most of the TV characters to be rather boring at this point and predictable.

If you were being sarcastic then my apologies if I read it wrong, sometimes sarcasm is not easily conveyed via forums.

I beleive the next season should help with this, wether it satifies your wish completely nobody can say.

I find it a little presumptuous that you would assume this without any knowledge of who I am. Considering the fact I have been in an interacial marriage for 13 years and I have delt with prejudice due to this, I would agree race is still an issue. I just don't agree with some people's idea of how to fix prejudice.

That's all I have to say on this matter as this is not a forum on race, let's get back to the topic, I can't wait for season 3.
