I know... another thread about money. But I'm curious, do you have dating/entertainment as a part of your budget?

Nope, well not really. I've been looking into buying a place so I've been doing a budget to see what I can afford monthly and Entertainment is a line item there. But it's more of an estimate of what I typically use than a budget restricting how much I spend. Right now I am putting so much into savings it's not really a concern.0

Whatever it takes:glasses:
No seriously. If we are t,asking about a first date, I wouldn't have an amount of money in mind to spend, but I would be wary to at least have a couple of hundred dollars to spare. Don't want to have to cut something short that's awesome because you've run out of cash!0 -

I would imagine that everyone has a budget on everything (unless you're super rich?). At some point money becomes an issue. However, I'm with 'whatever it takes' when I'm out and having a good time  If I'm skint, then I dont go out  (And I hate not going out :grumble: )0 -

Haha cheers! Yeah obviously not going to blow a fortnights pay on one date. But teach I would count on at least 100-250. Dinner and drinks.... Then if it's going well something else after, go to a nice bar and have a few drinks. Most people don't order massive meals on first dates so it's not usually to bad lol!
Plus I'm not a heavy drinker, so to get a bit happy, "whatever it takes" isn't that much! :drinker: :laugh:0 -
I have an entertainment budget (which includes things like childcare for dating) and a clothing budget, but not a "dating" specific budget.0

$100 is about £60!!! $250 is £150... :noway:
With £150, I'd go to Spain camping with the girl for a weekend (or France). How does that sound for a first date?0 -
A first date really shouldn't be that expensive in my eyes. Your just getting to know someone anything over $50 is a huge investment to me. I don't use credit cards and would have to have the cash on hand to be able to use. I am not going into my savings account and I don't expect a guy to either for a first date.0

Wouldn't be hard for dinner to add up, if you're at a nice place, say 15-25 for a entree each, mains probably I between 27-45 each, bottle of wine or a couple of drinks each say 30-50. Youre over 100 bucks easy! Not hard!0 -

If I lived in England, taking a girl to France or Spain for the weekend would be terrific. Camping is a little tough for a first date though. I'm not big into camping but you two are spending a lot of time together. Camping is probably better if you're both into camping and you know that you already have chemistry with the person.0 -
My initial post wasn't so much focused on a first or even single date, but more on a monthly basis. Sorry if they are one in the same and once a month is all the dating you get done. I have a monthly line item for clothing, entertaining and dining. I consider it a win if I max out all three without going over.0

Yes, entertainment and clothing budgets monthly... and if I run out of entertainment budget, I don't accept dates that month unless it's someone I know well enough to bring my boy along (which, admittedly, isn't much of a date).0 -

I'd go on that first date with you! Sounds fun!0 -
lol no I dont have a going out budget lol. I go out when I've got money or if I dont....... It really doesnt matter since the bar I go to I practially live at and quite frankly I dont have to drink to have fun.....Plus lets be honest if I wanted a drink I could get one. When I hit the bar I normally only go with about 25bucks. Thats 2 pitchers of blue long island ice tea. Then someone else buys a pitcher. If I ever go on an actually date I'll let you guy know. But when I do go somewhere to hang out with a guy I always make sure to bring some money just in case lol..0

I don't "budget" per se, but I definitely try not to get crazy. I almost took a girl out for a dinner which was going to easily run $200 or more, $40 a person for dinner (brazillian steak house), and bottles of wine running 50-80 a bottle, that's not counting if she wanted mixed drinks and/or dessert. Good thing she cancelled right? lol
I normally take a date to a nice sit down restaurant, which runs between 50-80 for dinner, then if they want to go out and do more I'm more than willing to, unfortunately there aren't a ton of places in Jacksonville to do that aside from smoky bars and stuff like that. We need more dessert places. There is one, but they close at approx. 10pm which is usually when dinner is ending.0 -
No I am useless at managing and keeping track of money and never have any idea about how much I have or don't have :ohwell:0

Fiscal management is a huge turn on to me so unless it’s an major event or special occasion I would probably be turned off by something to pricy or extravagant. (Says your local mortgage underwriter).0

What I meant is more: damn that's really a lot of money to spend on a first date/local half-boring date, and you could do so much better with that money on a subsequent date rather than blow it all on an average date especially given that many women say price of stuff doesn't matter, and that's it's all about the experience!0 -

Couple hundred?? Dang we could go parasailing on that money!
I'm cheap, $20 would easily cover me. Had a date a few weeks ago where we skipped dinner (which is perfectly fine) but he wouldnt even buy my one and only drink at the bar. Guess his entertainment budget was maxed out from his previous dates.
And nope I dont have a weekly/monthly entertainment budget at all.0 -
yes $100 a week0

Awesome, where ya taking me?0 -
4 concerts, 2 rockwalls and the beach, homie.0
-
I'm down. Which concerts? And will I need different outfits for each concert?
I've got shoes I can climb in already, should I bring a harness?
I'm also a little sunburnt from this past weekend, do you mind at least spraying me down with SPF 50? lol0
