As an FYI...a passport is not necessary if you leave/arrive into the same US port. A certified Birth Certificate along with a driver's license will do. However, you don't want to miss the ship at any of the ports without a passport!

This sounds like a BLAST... I'm pretty daring, so, to answer the original question, I'd be good with going on a cruise by myself, BUT doing a singles MFP cruise sounds even better!!!

    1. I'm open!

    2) I'm open!

    3) July

    4) Not sure....maybe 500?? ( I AM only workin' with a meager teacher salary, here!!! ;)

    5) I don't have a passport, but would get one, if needed. :)

You're welcome! Although sometimes I think forgetting my pasport and getting left behind on a caribbean island wouldn't be a bad thing!

    1) Where do you want to go? Anywhere that we can go exploring (Caribbean rain forest) or unusual (Alaska)
    2) Desired Port of Call:
    3) When can you go? Pretty open, though not during August, and not the last week of june/first week of July
    4) Whats the max you would spend on the cruise? it depends on what all we're doing
    5) Also, do you have a passport? In the process of getting one for another trip

I take vacations by myself all the time, but haven't been on a singles cruise. I'm not sure if I'm the type.

    1) Where do you want to go? Caribbean
    2) Desired Port of Call
    FL
    3) When can you go? Before the end of August
    4) Whats the max you would spend on the cruise? The price would determine if I can go or not... I'm open at this point.
    5) Also, do you have a passport? Yes

Ok, we need to decide where, when etc. So answer these questions:
    1) Where do you want to go?
    2) Desired Port of Call
    3) When can you go?
    4) Whats the max you would spend on the cruise? Remember, the cruise price does not include tips. (prepare to double it)
    5) Also, do you have a passport?

    Here are my answers:
    1) Carribean is fine with me
    2) Florida, Alabama, Louisiana
    3) $400
    4) Yes

I'm definitely interested. The timing is probably going to be the most important factor for me. How long a cruise were we talking about here?

    1) Where do you want to go? So long as it's tropical, I'm game
    2) Desired Port of Call; Southeast US coast
    3) When can you go? Fall
    4) Whats the max you would spend on the cruise? Remember, the cruise price does not include tips. (prepare to double it) Hmm, say $700-800
    5) Also, do you have a passport? Yes

Not sure where our cruise director went, but here are a few ideas:

    Fourth of July Cruise
    http://www.singlescruise.com/cruisedetail.aspx?cruise=6-night+sizzling+summer+fourth+of+july+singles+cruise+from+miami

    Labor Day Cruise
    http://www.singlescruise.com/cruisedetail.aspx?cruise=5-night+labor+day+eastern+caribbean+singles+cruise+from+miami

    Halloween Cruise
    http://www.singlescruise.com/cruisedetail.aspx?cruise=8-night+halloween+bash+caribbean+singles+cruise+from+miami

I can make any one of these, but I have a preference for the Halloween one. It also gives us a little more time to budget and save for it. What do you think?

Awww. You guys are lucky. For us Brits it's going to be a cruise on the Thames I think.
Well I hope you manage to do something.

I've been looking for single cruises. I would definitely be in. The few that I have found on-line were gear toward 40 and over crowd.

The ones I posted above are 21+, not 40+.

I vote for Halloween as well. My favorite holiday.

I don't really have any interest in a cruise, but I do need a vacation soon. Since it's along the same lines, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good location or interesting ideas?
  • I have never heard of such a thing...I wanna do this! How fun would that be???

The only problem with planning a halloween cruise is that half of you will be in relationships by then. :drinker:

I went on a singles cruise in September - booked on singlescruise.com, and had a blast. I had been worried that it would just be a hookup scene (not what I was looking for, but was for some), but I met some great friends ( male and femaie ) that I keep in touch with. I heard the Halloween one had tons of people last year. Regardless of which date, I'd recommend singlescruise.com to any friends. Let me check my calendar - maybe I'll make the one this group decides on :)

Oh, and (maybe it's easier for a guy) but I didn't know a single soul - just booked myself. They have events designed to meet the other group members. Also, I've been doing a lot of things myself since my divorce, going to trips, movies, clubs, etc, when I didn't have a friend, and I'm at the point where I don't get that nervous anymore about it :)

I saw the post by Kristen that said you don't need a passport and I'm not sure if that's true... I have been on 10+ cruises that required us to have passports because each ship must go to a foreign country (even if leaving from the US)
  • How fun!!! What a great idea!

I'm probably in... maaaaybe. I'll try my best not to get a boyfriend, but somehow I always end up in a relationship. :grumble:

    Not this time!
