Three/four days down, struggling?

Hello everyone, how are you all coping so far with this challenge?
Taken that sneaky peak at the number on the scales, or still standing firm?

I'm struggling a bit to be honest, as I feel like I've gained some weight (though, between you and me, that could just be bloating. haha!) I've fallen off the wagon in terms of going to the gym in the past week-final major project work for my course is slowly getting the better of me, but I ain't going down without a fight!

I've hidden my bathroom scales behind some boxes in my room...out of sight, out of mind!

How are you all feeling at the moment? Easier, or more of a struggle than you previously thought?

Stay strong, keep positive,
Jess.

  • I had my husband hide my scale, so I couldn't weight myself even if I wanted to! I think about it though every time I go in my bathroom :(
I'm gonna focus on inches not pounds while I take a vacation from my scale :)

I was VERY tempted this morning! But there's no way i'm giving in now I've made a promise to myself.

I feel as if I've put on as well... it must just be bloating though, my cals have been fine...

I was very impressed with myself yesterday, I explained my "No Scale April" to my fiance and even helped her weigh herself for the first time in weeks since we started eating better. I wasnt tempted to weigh myself even when she wanted me to. I explained how upsetting it can be when the results dont go my way and that I really just want to focus on eating better and getting out and doing more to burn the calories.

Good job to everyone who fights the temptation every day!! Keep up the good work!

Well, still my first instinct when I get up in the morning. Or, really, anytime I go into my master bath. But, I haven't given in and won't. I am focusing on the program I put together for the month of April and honestly, it's freeing to not have the judgment of the scale affecting my plans!

To everyone who is staying away - great job!!!

So far, so good. But I've been crazy busy and the month is still young!

My mother (who is always 'trying to lose weight') is hosting Easter this year and her idea of a healthy spread is Bisquits & Gravy, Bacon & Egg Casserole, Pound Cake, Sweet Breads.... Yep, this is what I face!! When I host it's more along the lines of ham, fresh asparagus, hard cooked eggs, fruit salad.... I'll make the best choices I can and it's supposed to be decent weather here so when we're done I'll probably go cycling for a few hours to make up for it!

I almost did it this morning, but I prevailed!! I'm not even measuring for a month. I'm focusing on how I feel, and doing the right things, and mentally just realllllllllllly trying to tell myself that the scale is an evil witch trying to bring me down! This lifestyle change makes me feel great, so I try to keep in mind that the scale makes me so unmotivated....I *may* try to not weigh in til our trip in June. We'll see....lol

i'm not struggling yet. I just wanted to say this though..I tried on my first real sexy black dress @ Walmart. I went from a size dress 20..to a 8/10. So inside my head..I thought..F*U scale! I did not let my high numbers ruin me. So..thanks for this challenge! I'm going by how my clothes fit only..my tight jeans are falling down.

I haven't had any problems so far. i actually forgot about my scale until I saw the post on here. I am LOVING this so far! It's SO liberating! To not walk into the bathroom every time and not feel drawn to stand on the scale and then be disappointed when it doesn't read what I want it to. It'll be quite interesting to see what I weigh on May 1st. I'm just hoping that the scale shows a decent loss. I didn't eat the healthiest tonight, but I did get my miles in for today.

It is driving my crazy, but I put it in the back of my cupboard and will not go after it. This is harder than I thought.

We can do this, no cheating. Just ODAAT (on day at a time) and we will be successful. I am on my plan an getting lots of acitivity #'s. So all is well in the world.

Day 5 for me now..I even weighed in backwards not looking at the old fashioned scale in my nutritionists office when she was weighing me in for my progress. Still didn't cheat!
  • Today I am feeling rather uncomfortable with myself and desperatel want to weigh myself...but I am trying to keep myself busy and not give into the negative feelings.

I'm dying for it today. I changed up my macros last week and started Chalean Extreme on Monday along with my Half Marathon training I started on Sunday. That's a lot of change all at the same time! And I am feeling the results of the workouts. I really, really want to know what's going on. I almost feel like it's irresponsible not to check, but then does it really matter anyway???? No, not really. And I guess that's a big part of the lesson.
  • I am really tempted! I feel I've lost weight, but I don't know for sure. I changed my calories so I wanted to see if it was doing anything. I guess I'll just stick with what I'm doing and see what happens at the end of the month! It's hard, but I promised myself!

I'm out. Husband went to the Dr today and was up several pounds. So we played the whole "is our scale right" game and I gave in. Results: not good (up 2 lbs in a week) but I'm not concerned. It's tucked away again...

I'm so tempted after easter, tomorrow is my first normal weigh in day since giving up the scales so it will be a real test!

It is getting to me. I tried on some clothes last night that were too small a few months ago and now they are loose. I am so wanting to hop on that scale. :explode:

I'm not struggling as much as I thought I would, but I am making sure I eat fairly soon after getting up so I cant weigh in for the day LOL

I think the last week will be hell though!

Hi all, well I am just goint to tell you I am getting weighed on Sunday morning, which will be week 2 of the challenge.

So I am pulling out of this group. I was only on MFP for 1 1/2 weeks before I started the challenge so I don't know if I am doing things right or not.

If I don't lose anything, I will be ok with it, because it is what has been happening for the past months and months.

I really had full intentions of sticking this out but it is not for me.

    Well done everyone for all of your dedication and hard work with this challenge! I understand how difficult it can be, and I'm struggling...yet the fact that I'm back home helps because the bathroom scale here is basically broken, so there isn't really much temptation for me. ^^;
But, keep strong, we can do this! :)

Hey, well, I'm certainly impressed with how well you've done with this challenge nevertheless, considering how new you are to MFP. Of course it's understandable for you to try out different things, and to figure out what works best for you..we're all different after all. :)
It's nice to have 'met' you, if you know what I mean (and I hope we can still be friends on here too). :)
