OK, as promised I am here reporting on my first day of level 2
It was not as bad as I was expecting it to be, which proves I must be stronger and fitter than I thought I was. I did about half and half of the harder and easier versions and even managed all the walk out push ups (albeit not a full push up!). The oblique planks at the end were a total killer and I am still feeling the burn now!
I grunted, groaned and puffed most of the way through so it isn't easy - especially when you are totally unfit and 52 years old like I am And sweat - well, I can tell you all about sweating now ladies
Elated that I managed it, but slightly concerned at how stiff and achy I am going to be tomorrow morning.............. watch this space.

Oh, I forgot to say, I kicked myself (but not in my own *kitten* like Natalie!) as I forgot to set my stop watch so I have no idea how many calories I burned tonight :grumble:
Safe to say it's gonna be more than Level 1 as my heart rate got up to 171 in paces when I checked and, as we say in the North of England, I was sweating cobs (in other words a lot!)0 -
Golden rule of 30DS - Stretch. Find a stretching video on youtube and stretch. Jillian doesn't do enough. She's great but those exercises can leave you sore for a while.0

Yes, I always finish off with some gentle yoga...... it helps, a lot  I have been a yoga fanatic for years - I did some serious damage to my spine in a motorcycle accident some years back and have to stay supple otherwise I just sieze up solid and yoga really helps.
It is the only thing I don't like about the 30DS - I don't think there's enough stretching and cool down at the end........... I haven't any of the other JM DVDs yet, so I'm not sure if it's just this one or all of them?0 -
Got up this morning and I am surprisingly not as sore as I was expecting, although my glutes and shoulders know they have had a work out!
I am away on business overnight tonight and not sure if I can fit a session in, but I a taking the DVD and weights with me in the hope that an opportinity arises..... after all it is only 20 minutes.
Keen to carry on!0 -
I did day 3 of level two today and it sure is hard but Im proud that I am able to do it. I haven't been doing it everyday, I alternate with the elliptical and walking so I was really only doing it like 3 days a week. I am not sure if I will increase the amount now that I joined this group or not. Got vacation on May 19th and want to look great. Currently at 166lbs, I need to take my measurements again though.0
