Bike trailer

I have gotten out the bike and trailer this spring so I can actually work out WITH my three year old, since he doesn't nap anymore. I am having trouble tracking calories burned doing this. My son weighs thirty pounds and we try to only ride on flat roads but I know it has to be burning more calories than riding alone. Does anyone know how to calculate calories burned?

this helped me out! The jist of it is, you burn double the calories of biking alone. I take my 5 yr old and 6 mo old out several times a week. so it's about 90 lbs with the trailer. It's work!0 -
Oh my gosh. This helps a TON, Thanks!0

I think they say the best way to do it is to get a HRM though. I have no clue how fast we're going when I ride, ya know?0

Yeah, I'm going to get a hrm eventually, but I just bought new running shoes, and we are on a budget!0

do you have your kids wear bike helmets while in the bike trailer?0
