I am a Scorpio and have found that many of the things said about Scorpios hold true for me! I have tried various weight loss programs and exercise classes but haven't found anything that stuck -- I wondered if there were any ties between astrology signs and what type of healthy activities would work or be easier to stick to.

Please feel free to add me!

    Hi StephD,

I am a Scorpio too. I have read we are supposed to be very intense with a strong will. Keeping in mind other variables such as time and place of birth, does this describe you? As for diet & exercise I believe zodiac signs vary in what attracts each. I enjoy yoga and Pilates and am not much of a team participant..

That does describe me. I am very strong willed which I am hoping will work for me on my weight loss journey! I enjoy yoga and individual activities more as well.

hi I am Jessica and I am an Aquarius, and this is what it says about me.

Aquarians basically possess strong and attractive personalities. They fall into two principle types: one shy, sensitive, gentle and patient; the other exuberant, lively and exhibitionist, sometimes hiding the considerable depths of their character under a cloak of frivolity. Both types are strong willed and forceful in their different ways and have strong convictions, though as they seek truth above all things, they are usually honest enough to change their opinions, however firmly held, if evidence comes to light which persuades them that they have been mistaken. They have a breadth of vision that brings diverse factors into a whole, and can see both sides of an argument without shilly-shallying as to which side to take. Consequently they are unprejudiced and tolerant of other points of view. This is because they can see the validity of the argument, even if they do not accept it themselves. They obey the Quaker exhortation to "Be open to truth, from whatever source it comes," and are prepared to learn from everyone.

In spite of the often intensely magnetic, forthcoming and open personality of the more extrovert kind of Aquarian, and of their desire to help humanity, neither type makes friends easily. They sometimes appear to condescend to others and take too little trouble to cultivate the acquaintance of people who do not particularly appeal to them.
They do not give themselves easily - perhaps their judgment of human nature is too good for that - and are sometimes accounted cold. But once they decide that someone is worthy of their friendship or love, they can exert an almost hypnotic and irresistible mental attraction on them and will themselves become tenacious friends or lovers, ready to sacrifice everything for their partners and be faithful to them for life. However, they are sometimes disappointed emotionally because their own high personal ideals cause them to demand more of others than is reasonable. And if they are deceived their anger is terrible. If disillusioned, they do not forgive.

Aquarians work best in group projects, provided that they are recognized as having a leading part in them. They have a feeling of unity with nature and a desire for knowledge aa feeling of unity with nature and a desire for knowledge and truth that makes them admirable scientists, especially astronomers and natural historians. They may excel in photography, radiography, electronics - anything connected with the electrical and radio industries - aviation and everything technical. On the arts and humanities side their progressive tendencies can be expressed in writing, especially poetry, and broadcasting, or as welfare workers and teachers. Some have gifts as entertainers and make good character actors (having an ability to mimic) and musicians. The more psychic among them possess healing gifts, especially in curing the mentally sick.

Among the faults to which they are liable are fanatical eccentricity, wayward egotism, excessive detachment and an inclination to retreat from life and society, and a tendency to be extremely dogmatic in their opinions. Aquarians can be a threat to all they survey or a great boon for humanity in general. Circumstances - for example, continuous opposition to a cause they hold dear - may cause the atrophy of the openness of mind that is one of the Aquarian's most attractive traits. They may express a lack of integrity in broken promises, secretiveness or cunning. Simmering anger and resentment, rudeness or, worse, a tense, threatening silence which may suddenly burst out in eruptions of extreme temper, these are all part of the negative side of the Aquarian. This can also reveal itself in a sustained hatred for enemies that is capable of enlarging itself into a misanthropy toward the whole of mankind.
    Possible Health Concerns...
As Aquarius is said to govern the legs from knees to ankles and the circulation of blood, its natives are susceptible to ailments particularly in the legs and ankles, such as cramps, and are also liable to spasmodic and nervous complaints, as well as wind, catarrh, diarrhea, dropsy, goiter and delirium tremens - so that the avoidance of alcohol is important for those Aquarians who have a taste for it.

Hi, I'm Rachel. I'm a Pisces. Very easy going and my friend call me a free spirit/hippie. I beg to differ, I can't be classified, I love too many different things, and am very indecisive. I prefer to be in the background and just following orders rather than be a leader or in the spotlight. I consider myself creative as well. Feel free to add me :-)

Hello everyone! I love astrology and believe in it completely! I'm a Taurus with Gemini rising so I battle myself all the time. The Taurus in me makes me stubborn, have a love for food and leisure, and makes me naturally meatier and bigger boned. Then the Gemini in me makes me always want to be on the go, never finish projects and change my mind constantly! My whole life I have gone through periods (1-2 years each) where one period I'll be more Gemini and be a go getter and do great things for myself and push myself and then Taurus mode comes along and I get lazy and just sit without progress at all! Right now I'm in the Gemini mode and I want to keep it that way!!! Being a Taurus I'm very competitive and this website helps me with that definitely by really wanted to reach my goals. Also since I'm a Taurus I love schedules and being very organized and anal about doing everything by the book!

So I think for me I need to embrace my Taurus side by sticking my rituals of exercise (going the same time every day), recording all I eat accurately, and bring my competitive nature out. I need to avoid overindulgence and laziness. With Gemini, I need to embrace my strong will, need for change and high energy. I need to avoid giving up and getting bored!

Anyone feel free to add me and I'll try and help motivate you as much as I can!!

im a GEMINI I NEVER THOUGHT OF LOOKING UP SIGNS FOR DIET BUT AS I RESEACHED I FOUND THIS WEB SITE AND LOT OF IT IS TRUE ABOUT ME

    http://www.indusguru.com/good-health-diet-for-gemini/

Food for the Zodiac Sign: GeminiFebruary 25th 2008 22:50
    Category: Astrology
Geminis are inclined to eat on the run and are notorious for being junk food addicts. To keep up your energy and high spirits, you must have a proper diet. You are lucky when it comes to diet and weight loss. You have a fast metabolism which means you burn calories quickly and as result, loose weigh relatively fast.

The element of Gemini sign is Air which rules the nervous and circulatory systems and the body functions of movement, urination and breathing. You are easily stimulated, with quick and extremely sensitive minds that are easily thrown off balance and overwhelmed.

Mercury the ruling planet of Gemini sign rules over brain, nervous system and respiratory system. It also governs the delicate links between the mind and various parts of the body.
The pathological action of this sign is nervousness, negativity, passivity or even restlessness.

Anxiety, nervousness, tuberculosis, asthma and anemia are common to Geminis.

Vulnerable parts of the body are the arms, hands, fingers, lungs and nervous system, especially the sense of hearing.

The cell salt for Gemini is potassium chloride which builds fiber in the blood, organs and tissues of the body. It also keeps the lungs and bronchial tubes unclogged.
A deficiency of this mineral can lead to clots in blood and circulatory problemsPotassium chloride is present in asparagus, green beans, tomatoes, celery, carrots, spinach, oranges, peaches, plums, apricots and rice.

The food that keeps nervous system in proper functioning is grapefruit, almonds, broiled fish, shell fish, apples and raisins. Lettuce and cauliflower help to combat bronchitis.

Geminis should avoid Coffee and stimulants.

    Symptoms of Excess Air

Overactive, restless, sensitive minds and nervous exhaustion plague air signs. You may have dry skin, hair and mucus membranes, insomnia and memory loss from systemic overload.

Best food to eat - Steamed vegetables, nuts, croutons

Avoid – raw foods, grains, root crops, yeasty food, refined sugar.

    Symptoms of Low Air

When the air element in low there is difficulty with the flow of energy through the body resulting in a weakened nervous system.

Best food to eat – Garlic, ginger, yoghurt

    Hi! I'm Katy:

    Sun: Pisces
    Rising: Leo
    Moon: Scorpio

There is a great site called The Secret Language of Birthdays that discusses personology of individual birthdays. I have been following the health suggestions and I feel AMAZING! I would suggest it to anyone. http://www.thesecretlanguage.com/birthdays/

    "Health
Those born on March 13 tend to be accident-prone. They must pay particular attention to their lower extremities and take especially good care of their feet and toes. Moderate, regular physical exercise is important in keeping the physical apparatus of these philosophical and concept-oriented individuals in good working order. Particularly recommended are a variety of non-competitive activities, such as yoga, calisthenics, long walks in natural surroundings, swimming, and tai-chi or dancing. The March 13 diet should be strictly controlled, and feature a high percentage of whole grains, nuts, fruit and of course fresh vegetables. In certain special cases high protein intake can be important for a period of time. A nutritionist, homeopath or alternative medical specialist may be helpful."

Hey guys my name is Kara and I am a Capricorn with Sagittarius Rising. I know being a capricorn has definitly helped me with my weight loss because of my work ethic and will power. Once I start something I tend to put my all into it. I also have a virgo moon which I have used to my advantage to kind of become obsessed about losing weight. (in a good way though) because it pushes me on those days when I dont feel like working out. I am a runner and mostly run alone (capricorn) but if I get the chance I love having someone to work out with (Sag rising being the more social of the signs.)

I do study astrology and have for about 2 years now. I know alot about certain signs, mainly ones that I interact with in my daily life. I am able read peoples birth charts and how the signs affect the planets when people were born. I am still reading and studying in depth everyday.

Feel free to add me! glad to see other people interested in Astrology and not thinking Im a crazy person!lol

Hiya! I'm a CANCERIAN & very much into astrology...I believe most of it but not all..i use the horoscopes as a guide really rather than follow exactly what it says! I think a large number of the traits are true of me but others arent...i tend to pick the best ones I think!! Once or twice i have read a description of a cancerian & its been scarily accurate!! I'm not sure if astrology or star signs has anything to do with weight loss but it would be interesting to see! Anyway ive lost the most this week since i started this (3 weeks ago) & think the support from others using MFP has helped alot so add me if you like

I'm an Aries born in the year of the Pig. I'm more of my Pig sign than my Aries, if that makes any sense. Up until a few years ago, the roles were reversed.

I am a VERY typical Libra! Very into the arts, music, and beauty. Needs balance in my life otherwise I don't feel myself. Very concerned with my image and appearance, and make an effort to always look good. Very honest, caring, and diplomatic. I am a great mediator and listen to all sides of an argument before speaking. I have a lot of psychic tendencies. I also work in a creative field, which is very typical of a Libra.

Aedreana here, brand-new to MFP! I have been studying astrology since right after I went thru my first Saturn return. I read Grant Lewi's "Astrology For The Millions" and was floored by the chapter on Saturn return. It described an opportunity to break free of the past and leave behind something that has held you back-- to "cut away the dead wood" in your life. Well, when transiting Saturn returned to its own place, conjunct my natal Saturn in Libra in the 8th house, I met the man I would end up marrying and so, at age 29, I finally let go of the torch I had held tightly on to for my high school boyfriend. I had waited 11 years for him to come.back to me. He never did, but a Mars/Venus conjunction @ 0°/01° Taurus in the 2nd house makes me hold on like a pit bull! So when I read about the Saturn return after the fact, I knew astrology was for real. My marriage didn't last but it had broken me free of the dead wood that was my high school boyfriend. I have over the years first-hand winessed extensive proof of astrology's validity. I was confused as to why 1984 and 1985 had been such extraordinary years for me-- the only genuine happiness I have ever had, but the transits didn't bear it out. And then, I discovered progressions. It turns out that in '84 and '85, my progressed Sun was conjunct my natal Venus/Mars conjunction! I am still studying progressions and transits and aspects, in my chart and in someone else's chart and how his relates to mine. I have recently begun learning about "critical degrees." I would love to hear from other serious students of astrology.
