What events are you guys planning on competing in for 2012? For me:

Leadville 100 (entering lottery), did this one in 09'
Crusher in the Tushar, did this one in 11'
12 hours of Mesa Verde, an annual tradition
Grit 50, did this one in 11'
Park City 50, did this one 11'
Park City Point to Point, did this one in 10' and 11'
Need one more dirty hundo, maybe Breckenridge 100 or Pierre's Hole 100 again.

If I ever did an international stage race it would definitely be La Ruta in Cost Rica ( http://larutadelosconquistadores.com/ruta2011/ ) Have you done Trans Rockies?

My body can't handle the full MTB trail rides. So I am concentrating more on distance. Completed a 50 mile off road trail ride in early Oct just one year after heart surgery. So my goal is to double or triple this next year.

No I haven't. I've been tempted, and several of my friends have. Since its only a 2 hour drive, its cheaper than La Ruta.
I'm more of a "Thursday Night Race League" kind of guy. And then there's Crankworx. That is what gets me going. A-Line.

I'd love to find a 24hr race, but they seem to be losing popularity in my area.

I see you're in NY but I have no idea where. If you can't find a 24 hr race, do the WIlderness 101. It's a NUE race in Pennsylvania.

Check out http://xxcmag.com/events for stuff around you.

    Here's my 2012 schedule:

Feb: Stupor Bowl - Drunken Alley Cat MPLS
May: Almanzo - 100 mile road Rochester
June: Westside Dirty Benjamin - 100 mile gravel MPLS
June: Powderhorn 24 - 24 hour relay MPLS
    July: TBD
    August: TBD
September: Dakota Five-Oh - Fifty-ish mile mountain bike race in Spearfish, SD

Still need to find one or two more to make my quota for the 6 races per year to stay on the team I ride with. Anyone know of any other goodies near MN?

I'm aiming for the Stoopid 50 this year.

Most likely tackle SM100 next year, maybe W101... If I'm crazy will continue to aim for NUE events.

I'll be doing the Capitol Forest 50 this summer near Seattle. They have a 100 option as well that I would like to work up to for next year. So far the only race I've done, 3 times, is the Test Of Metal, which is a very popular 67 km. race in Squamish B.C.

So the hubby and I are all set for the Almanzo 100 this Saturday. He thinks I should still be doing intervals up until Thursday. I think I should take it easy and rest up to the event to save my legs. I say this because I notice if I ride hard or a lot during the week, by the time weekend rolls around, I'm pretty spent. I'm not sure if it's a re-fueling issue or if I need a break. What does everyone else say?

The week of the race is typically a "taper" race, very light, if any, cycling to save up that energy

My main goal is the British heart foundation south downs way 100 (uk) basically 100 miles off road in around 12-17 hours.
Ive done some 50 and 60 miler events during training.
Did my first +60 mile training ride on the same terrain yesterday- tough! we are having a wet summer here in the UK, so it was muddy , slippery (its chalk). and churned from horses.
    Feeling pretty broken today.
