Carb/Protein/Fat Ratio

Ok - so I revised my settings to a 40/30/30 ratio as outlined on the beachbody website.... and I am struggling to meet my protein goal without going over on my carbs. I watched closely last week and I have determined I am "wasting" carbs with fruits and veggies bc I get no protein out of them. This theory completly goes against what I have always been taught (and what I used to lose the first 12 pounds) which is to eat a lot of fruits and veggies with your lean meats. Thoughts on where to get more protein? Thoughts on removing veggies/fruits from a diet?

i just try to eat stuff like cottage cheese, chicken, eggs, greek yogurt and i also have the protein bars and shakes too. that's about all i can do. i aim for about 90-100 if i can. today was a bad example but most days i try to do well with it. if i don't, not a big deal, will just to better the next day.

I stay between 75-85 ... guess I need more cottage cheese and less pretzels! ; )

I'm struggling with this too. From my understanding most people turn to a protein type shake- which I'm just not into. I'm eating hard boiled eggs and leaner meats in soups. Trying to embrace turkey jerky. I like PB but I think it's a better source of fat than protein- not a bad thing since I need that too. Basically I'm trying to avoid Bread (but it's so good). I think I might try to incorporate a little Quinoa. I think fruits and veggies are so important- I guess we just have to be careful about which ones to choose.:flowerforyou:

I get really tired of chicken breasts so I have become a turkey burger junkie. Love my turkey burgers. Turkey breast is so lean & so low in calories I can eat more than other things. I just can't go without my fruit. I eat lots of berries, oranges & apples. Other fruits have higher calorie & carb levels. I love bananas & mellons but eating these messes me up. I eat lots of fruit in the morning, usualy with yogurt or egg whites. I eat huge salads with lunch & diner. These are the kind of carbs I like to get, not the startchy kind. Bread & pasta are my enemies. I can't lose the weight if I eat any. It's a bummer, most of the foods I like to eat don't help me lose the weight I want.

If I was honest with myself I should probably eliminate those bread carbs and keep the fruit/veggie ones... I just love bread! I do love salads and fruit too though - trying to find the good balance!
