Tall Swimsuits

Does anyone have a recommendation for swimsuits to suit the taller frame, other than from Long Tall Sally?
I get so frustrated going into shops and trying on loads and loads of stuff just to find that it's trying to cut me in half! Are any of the mainstream manufacturers (Speedo, TYR etc) putting out products that I've got a chance of fitting into?
I'm not looking for beachwear, just a functional swimsuit that I can wear ploughing up and down the lane. Ideally with a racerback, not a scoopback - when it's on I want it to stay on with no faffing around!
TIA!

Land's End carries Long Torso suits.0

I believe that Athleta also carries long torso suits.0

I don't know what you might consider too pricey, but athleta has nice suits and tall sizes. I have a tankini top from there that I love and it has held up well.0

Thanks for the replies so far. I'd already looked at Land's End (should have said) and there's no racerback in the tall. I hadn't heard of Athleta, but their range at the moment seems to be 1 baggy-*kitten* suit (reviews!) and a buttload of tankinis, and I think they are US only.
Anyone know anything about the fit offered by the big swimwear manufacturers...Zoggs, Maru, Aqua Sphere, Speedo, Arena, Diana, TYR? Am I wasting my time if I trail around the shops trying on the regular fit suits?0 -
I have a speedo suit in long. So far I like it quite a bit: http://amzn.com/B000YJ0V6A . Hope you find what you're looking for!0

Thanks Emuhawk. I saw a couple of long suits on the Speedo US site but can't find them on the UK site or in any UK retailers. :explode: This is SO FRUSTRATING!
Any of you TTWs have any luck with regular length suits? Any recommendations?0 -
I've got one from Debenhams, but it's ancient and I don't whether they still do them in a tall fit0

Hello!
Check out M&S, instore or online. they do Long length in quite a few of their syles. You can arrange your search options by the size & length you want (ie: 16L)
Also, Simply Be online does Long length swimwear. Most styles start at a size 12 (UK size- US size 8) and go up to a UK 32 (US 28)
Here's a link to a sporty style one: http://www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/beach-to-beach-swimsuit-longer-length/ro333/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=5986#colour:BLACK,size:0 -
I've found Zoggs to be quite long but tbh it was a halterneck not a racerback so that probably helped.
Do you have an outlet village near you? they normally have speedo / ellese sports outlets so you can try multiple ones on0 -
I purchased a swimsuit via Figleaves recently, although I had more of an issue with unbalanced top v bottom. Have checked their website and they have a long line suit but scoop backed.

Just in case it's useful to anyone else here are the results of my shopping trip.
Speedo: don't do long length in the UK, unless you want to spend £££s on a competition race suit. Regular was too short for me. Looked at the sports tankini but the top was waaaaaay too short
Adidas: could only find regular length and that was too short for me
Zoggs: again regular length only in the shops. I nearly ended up buying this one, but only because it was so tight across my shoulders that I struggled to get it back off! They do 1 style in a long length but they didn't have it in the shop and it has a scoop back which I didn't want anyway
I ended up in Long Tall Sally and was lucky enough to get a suit with a racerback in my size on the clearance rack! Yay!0 -
I used to get long length cossies from BHS but currently have two boy leg adidas ones. I have them in size 16 ( I'm a 14) but find they fit well.0

I too am looking for a swim suit for my 6' 1" frame. My problem is I still have big boobs and hips, plus I am 50 years old. I don't want to even attempt to look like a young girl, but I also don't feel like I am matronly - at least not mentally, I'm still a rocker at heart!. I am going to go out this Friday to shop for a suit for the first time in 5 years and I am totally dreading it.
Any suggestions for a young 50 yr old Momma who still has a big butt and thighs (but they are getting smaller!).0
