Ooh look! Something shiny.

I'm not asking for advice, because I know the solution to my problem. I am... tacky. I have an inner Fran Drescher who wants me to wear only bright and bold and short and tight and sparkly and ruffly. I have the hardest time buying just normal BASIC clothes. It got worse when I worked at a vet tech and wore scrubs to work, so there was no need to buy "business classics," and a desperate need to wear clothes that make me look and feel like a girl. Everyone looks 7 months pregnant in scrubs. And it got way worse when I lost weight and discovered I love how I look in clothes again.
But now my entire wardrobe is either athletic wear, cute but not age appropriate tees, and Fran-wear. Like a moth to a flame, or a kitten to a string, I'm drawn to the most obnoxious and gawdy clothes every time I shop. And I just can't bring myself to get a plain button down blouse.
Casual wear... tee and a hoodie.
Skinny jeans and a shiny top.
Sleeve cutouts. And the jeans had bejeweled pockets.
Old (10+ years) plaid mini and a drapey shirt.
Ruffly blouse and red patent platform wedges.
Sequins tank and capris a few nights ago.
I knew I had a problem when I was able to assemble a Halloween costume out of my regular clothes. I just don't always do my makeup quite that heavy.

I think you've got some cute clothes!!! I'm a fan of the 'over the top' stuff myself.0

I think I like everything except for the blue top, and then sparkly tank doesn't pair well with the jean capris. You're adorable.0

You look adorable. I see nothin here which is "age-inappropriate" or overly gaudy or anything else.
I don't love the blue top, but that's only because I know your waist is much smaller than that, and the blousy nature of the cut of that top conceals it. But the color is lovely.
I'm pretty inspired right now looking at your Halloween costume. I think I may have to steal that idea!!! SO MUCH FUN WITH MAKEUP COLORSSSSSSSS0 -
Thanks!
I was going to wear the sequins top with a black mini, but it felt too dressy (and a little chilly) to just go to Applebees.
On the other hand, this is a pair of jeans I wore in high school. I got these in 1986, and managed to fit into them again last summer. Couldn't zip them all the way up, though.
Back in the day, I'd wear them with red high top sneakers, a black oversized shirt with TAILS, a red belt, and red & black bangle bracelets.0 -
I think you look AMAZING!!!! I would kill to have your figure, so you go and where whatever your heart pleases!!! I think all of your outfits are cute. I like the plaid skirt... WORK IT girl!!!!0

From the pics, your style is similar to mine (minus the mini skirt) and I'm certain I'm older than you (40+ here)...so I think your style is AWESOME! You look great in all of the pics!0

You look great. I think its fun and if it makes you happy thats all that matters. Its good that it doesnt get in your way at work.0

Honestly, I really like your clothes! The only outfit that I'm not nuts about is the plaid mini with the red top. The mini is a little too mini (but that's my personal taste - it's not showing off your lady-bits or anything!), and that red top is a little dressy for it. But other than that, your clothes are bright and fun without being too over the top.0
