How do you cope when lowering your intake?

Hi all,
I recently had a pretty good 6lb loss and was wanting to go to the next level of losing. You may ask why since I lost but I'm wanting to have one more baby and I don't have time on my side (I'm 42). I just revamped the goals to go down to 1490 cals instead of 1790.
Question is, do you think it's too much of a shock to my body? Or should I just go for it? Has anyone done that before and it worked for them?
I currently weigh 253lb and need to lose another 100lb.

Any advice would be highly appreciated!

P.S I can't exercise for the interim apart from general living and walking due to Bowen therapy. I'm in the middle of 6 sessions, normally I have a Curves gym membership. So I thought lowering the cal intake would help. Thanks!:flowerforyou:

is the 1490 calories MFP calculated or you own calculations? If that's the difference between losing 1lb a week and two ponds a week I don't think that's a bad idea. If it were for you last 10lbs or so then I would say "just stick with 1lb a week" but, from what I understand, when you have 50+lbs to lose 2 a week is still healthy

    Hi! Thanks for your reply!

Yes, it was my own calculations but I was warned about doing it too fast from a member in my thyroid group and only to do it gradually. So I uppe the intake from 1490 to 1600 to start with and just to see how I go for a week or two then maybe go down to 1500 from there.

I'm pretty much sedentary atm:grumble: but I know as soon as I finish these Bowen sessions I'll be right back into the gym I can tell you! Then I can up it again, buut until then I thought I'm allowing myself too many treats on this amount! Being sedentary can make you feel flat and bored so you (I) tend to eat more and that's just not goiing tyo help is it!

Thanks again for your input! I'll keep you posted!:flowerforyou:
