Does anyone here play the Final Fantasy XIV MMO ? I just picked it up for dirty cheap but wow is the game hard to get into when you start, wondering if any of the crew here plays and would like to take a noob under their wing :)

    Unfortunately, it had such terrible reviews universally that I'm not sure many people play it. I'm a huge FF fan and even I stayed away :/

    I know FFXI is still fairly active if you ever see that for cheap!

    I was a hardcore FFXI player back in the day. It was contributing factor as to why I nearly got to 500 lbs. I dabbled with FFXIV but never got into it. I quit it the same time I quit FFXI back in Fall of 2009. From when I did play it, it has lots of flaws but it sure is pretty.

    I got into this game recently, as a friend of mine plays it - it has a very steep learning curve! However, I'm finding it holds my attention a lot more than WoW does - or maybe it's just the challenge lol. I am learning some of the basics, and can probably help with a few of the starter questions...but I'm only at level 13, so that's as far as I can help you out!

    I loved FFXI. If only you didn't have to be playing the game for 3+ hours at a time to accomplish anything. Took forever to find a group and get going.

    I am a die hard FF fan. I've played all of them. However, I tried FFXIV for about a month and it didn't do anything for me. Takes too long to do things. I ended up returning back to FFXI for a few months until I then switched to FFXIII. I recommend FFXIII and 2. I love the story and game play! :)
