I just started the MOVE program yesterday. Any feedback regarding the program from anyone else?

Are you using the regular MOVE, teleMOVE, or do you have a machine like a Health Buddy hooked up to your phone to record your weight and stuff? The last one is the best one I think. I don't know how it worked where you are but the other 2, reg and tele MOVE just entailed talking to someone once a month, which really didn't seem like a lot of help in my opinion. Depends on how you work it, if you are in group sessions, etc. If you use the machine to the phone, they mail you a great digital scale to weigh yourself on, you report every day on it and it is automatically recorded at the VA. You are given hints, a book to follow, questions to answer, and once a week or more if you need it, you can request to speak to someone personally involved with MOVE in case you have any questions or comments. I liked it because it made me feel responsible to something/someone on a daily basis. I go to the Syracuse VA so don't know how it is where you are. I know some offer exercise groups, group therapy, diets and exercise to follow. Just stick with it. If you are aiming for surgery for weight loss, after losing 30-60 pounds and keeping it off for over 3 months, they can now help with that at a lot of the VA's. Good luck.

Just started the basic MOVE program. Week 2 is this week. I've been backsliding because as I become more active, I'm more hungry and don't meet my food goals for the day. Where it was a burden to walk 1 1/2 mile, I'm up to 4-5 and could eat the house (including the pantry) when I get home. :)
