I have been on MFP since August of last year, and have had some success on the scale and some NSV's too. What I am battling with is my WINE habit. I looked for groups and found this one...but you all seem to be ahead of me in the giving it up phase.
Any advice? I have read many of your posts already. My nightly indulgence, even if I am under my daily calorie intake, i think is affecting my weight loss journey.

Hey there! Glad to see you here. I am struggling mightily. I started the group last winter but seem to be the slow poke in terms of real change. I just posted on my home page tonight re once again drinking red wine tonight for no reason at all and while not completely eating back all my exercise calories, dipping too deeply into that bank. sigh... I just really love a glass (or more) of wine. I am not sure what tips I have that are really meaningful. I know a lot of people find abstinence easier than moderation and for the brief periods I have been abstinent I would have to agree. But then again, my periods of abstinence have been, well, brief, so it's not THAT easy. I think at least starting the conversation is good. I am happy to keep talking and working on it if you are.

Yes, I hear you! I dont necessarily want to abstain forever, but I just seem to struggle day to day with just one glass. One's not enough and two is too many. And I'm in charge of a wine tasting for a work event tomorrow night. I know my weight gain was partly the gallons of wine i consumed in a haze of depression, which is clear now (I think: I am med free) but the habit of pouring a BIG glass of wine is still lingering...thanks. I guess I was looking for someone similar...I'm not a sweet eater, I'm pretty healthy all around, just got this issue to deal with!0
