Loss of Interests

Just curious if anyone else deals with this...
If I have something in common with a guy, an interest in a TV show or a hobby... something that I share with a guy as an activity during a date/relationship... I tend to lose interest in that hobby after the relationship ends.
One guy and I both loved Stargate SG1... I find myself having no interest in that anymore. I think it's because watching it reminds me of him. Another guy and I watched back seasons of Dexter on our evenings together. A third guy I took to my favorite park. All things I have no interest in returning to.
This all makes me hesitant to share things with people who might flake out on me. Uggh.

That happens sometimes to me, too. But not all the time. What a great excuse to go explore new hobbies ;-)0 -
One of my hobbies is playing tennis. If I have a girlfriend that is a tennis and we break up, I'm not going to stop playing tennis. I played tennis before her, and I would play tennis after her.0

I do this most of the time if the guy introduces me to the TV show/hobby.
There are a few shows that I used to watch with my exes but I don't watch anymore.
However, a guy I dated got me into golf, and while I don't do it as often anymore I'm still very interested in doing it. Just don't have the time.. but Sugar Lips is into golf so hopefully we'll find some time once we become an official cute couple (wishful thinking).0 -

Just to clarify... these are things I was interested in BEFORE the guys ever came into my life, not things I picked up to do while with them.0

I did that when my last relationship went REALLY badly. (Like, called the cops bad.) But I'm finally getting back into those things again after about 2 years.0

This has never happened to me.
I would say.... love what you love.0 -
My love for the Rangers baseball team came from dating a man who liked them a few years back. They are still my favorite team.
And this was before they went to the World Series

For me it's music. I have strong associations with songs to parts of my life or people in my life. So if there's an older song that I have no association with that becomes associated with a girl or a new song we both like as soon as it comes out, I have a tendency to avoid those songs until a point that the associations are more nostalgia than anything else.0

This too, but with certain people. For example, whenever I hear "Look At Me Now" by Chris Brown I always think of one particular night out at the bar with this guy...it gives me mixed emotions.0 -
Happened to me. I loved poker and then met a guy in Vegas and saw each other for awhile. After, lost interest in poker....and almost 2 years later still not interested as much...it happens.0

Nope, I'm pretty sure I still like sex.0
