Hi, I'm Amy... 27 from Ohio.. and just received my insanity workouts in the mail and I'm so excited to get started. I will be waiting until May 28th (with working at a school thats when I will have more time to really dedicate and DIG DEEPER for these workouts). I was reading over the nutrition plan and wondering if anyone can give me an idea of if they used it or did their own thing just eating healthy and staying under the calories they say in the book. I just want as many options of things to eat as possible so I don't get bored because I definetly get bored easily. Also, I was looking at shakeology and wondering who out there drinks it and if its worth it? I have a few recipies and sample packs to try and am thinking seriously about purchasing but I want to hear everyones thoughts on using it with insanity (when do you use it- breakfast, before/after workout, etc. and if it has helped aid in feeling more energetic (Ive heard you are really drained after the insanity workouts and I want to workout more than just the dvd with some running to prep for a 5k), and with weight loss (looking to drop 10-20 lbs). Please give me all the insight about insanity, the nutrition plan, and shakeology as you can, I REALLY appreciate the support!

I just started yesterday. I haven't really read the book yet (bad I know, but I am SO BUSY right now - I'll get to it eventually!) but I'm not following the nutrition plan. I know what my body responds to well - when I'm working out intensely, I think it's best (for me) to just eat when I'm hungry. I'm still logging my eats because it keeps me accountable and keeps from my mindlessly snacking. And I'm going to try to stay in a reasonable range.
I'm not using Shakeology, but I am using GNC protein. I just mix with water, a couple slices of frozen banana, and a handful of spinach, and drink it right after I finish. Or as soon as I can without barfing. Ha.0 -
Hey Amy..I just finished Month 1 of Insanity. I read over the nutrition plan, but haven't followed it. Although I definitely recommend using it to calculate the number of calories you need in a given day. At first I tried to stay with what MFP recommended but felt wiped through some of the harder workouts. I've never tried Shakeology (too expensive) but lots of people on the boards have said good things about it. I use Optimum Nutrition protein powder instead (about a third of the price) and don't have any complaints so far. The only other recommendation I have is to use a HRM if you can, instead of using MFP to calculate calories burned. Good luck, if there's anything else I can tell you please send me a message.0

Just finished Day 23 today:) Um, If u stick with the calories MFP gives u, u will notice u may be more tired and less energetic after the workouts.. So yea I def. reccomend that you work out the math part of what Shaun T tells you how many calories you need when doin his program.. For me its 1900 per day so thats what I eat now.. and I am losing faster then when I was at 1300-1400 per day.. Cuz YOU BURN ALOT OF CALORIES with his workouts so yea.. U need to keep ur body feeling safe or else it will turn against you, and you will lose ur weight slowly...
Um, also, Yes I follow some of the food ideas he gives in the plan. I dont follow it to a perfect T tho cuz Sometimes I have the foods and sometimes I DONT have the $ to buy the foods I need so I make due with what I can..
AND I ALSO EAT REG. FOODS I STILL LIKE TO, MODERATION IS KEY!!
I also, can not afford shakeology its wayyyyyy expensive.. just another way for beach body to make more money Im betting.. but yea..
A reg. whey protein powder will do, or bars or just fruit smoothies with NO added sugar (since u get all u need from the fruits them selves:)
INSANITY IS FREAKIN AMAZING I LOVE SHAUN T!
GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY..0
