Ok fellow awesome CrossFit MPFers, my boyfriend tore the hell out of his hands on Friday. Do any of yall know anything he can put on his hands to help speed healing?

Thanks in advance!

    just neosporin and keep the open skin clean. if it gets too dry, it'll split and be super painful and take longer to heal. if you simply keep it moisturized and don't agitate it, it will heal at the rate it is supposed to.

    however, if he is bull-headed like i am and insists on continuing to use his hands and do any bar exercises, New Skin or liquid bandage have worked well for me in the past as well as tape. (word of warning, it stings like no other and has slowed the healing for me)

    I figured out the stuff I was thinking of for torn up hands. I've seen people use it at our box just couldn't remember the name.

    The stuff is called DAT Rip Stick and apparently works pretty well.

    1.) buy a pumice stone and use after a shower so they dont rip :)

    2.) if and when they do rip -- i found that once they dry mine kept ripping so i kept putting chap stick on it and it worked wonders

    Wet tea bags on the hands help out a lot. it helped take a lot of the sting out and it also helps dry the area out so it can heal quicker.

    cut off the torn skin
    put a blister band-aid on it for 1 day
    let it dry out

    oh, and never moisturize your hands. I find the softer your hand, the more likely it'll tear. I tore for the first time in 2 years after my first week back at crossfit (off 2 months) - and it was because my hands were soft and smooth.
