Sugar

Good morning!
I will preface with I am going to see my doctor in 2 weeks, so I will ask this question when I see her
But until then, I'm curious what y'all might think or what your doctors may have suggested to you.
Any ideas on what a healthy goal for sugar (in grams) is while pregnant? I eat about 2400-2600 calories per day and MFP gives me 48g, but I'm always over. I want to set a realistic goal for myself, so do y'all have any ideas? Obviously the less sugar, the better, but I'm trying to be realistic for myself!
I would appreciate any feedback

I don't think MFP's goal is realistic. I changed mine to 100. Even when I would not eat anything "bad" I would still go over because I often eat a lot of fruit. I feel as long as if it's mostly good sugar then not to worry about it.0

Thanks for the input! I would say about half of mine come from natural sugars like fruit or come from my 1% milk, and the other half are added sugars in the foods I eat. The second half is the kind I'm more worried about0

Just do the best you can! We all have to have some bad sugar sometimes0

Honestly, if you are worried about GD the less the better (sugar). If you do, and I hope you don't get it, fruit will be off limits as well as juice. When I was pregnant and had it I didn't eat any fruit, only veggies because it spiked my sugar right away. I know I was all or nothing, but I stayed away from anything that spiked my sugars. When I had foods, I wouldn't have anything that had over 10grams of sugar ever. I was really strict with what I ate because I didn't want a big baby. I had to use insulin as you know and they were amazed that I went full term with only a 7 lb baby. They were predicting a nine or 10 lb baby, but he was 7 lbs on the nose. I wouldn't go too crazy worrying, because I think you will be fine if you exercise and eat sensibly. Honestly, in the beginnning of my pregnancy I ate terrible, I craved sugary drinks and candy and I ate a lot of it. I am not surprised that I got it. My dad had diabetes as well, and I was 15 lbs heavier, so even more obese than I am now. A lot of people can control it with diet and exercise and because you are on a good path already, I am sure you will be fine.0
