Inflammation

One reason I'm taking a few days off from activity, is due to inflammation. Things are locking up due to the inflammation and since inflammation is systemic, I am letting the whole body rest. Now, once I get back to it, I can still work around the injury, but for now, I just want my whole body to get a break, which irritates me, but it is crucial to recovery.
Now body fat and nutrition play a role in the amount of inflammation in the body. When I used to weight 230 lbs, I would get a massage and be sore for several days, due to the high overall levels of inflammation. Today when I get a massage (deep tissue of course) I might be a little sore, but due to less body fat, I have less inflammation. There are also foods that attribute to inflammation and some that help counteract it. http://robbwolf.com/category/anti-inflammatory-diet/ has a lot of information as well.
Now by the way, if I site books and websites, I am not getting paid or anything.....these are people and authors that helped me lose 80 lbs in 8 months with food intake and exercise alone. http://nutritiondata.self.com/ is another site that has the inflammation levels of foods. For example if you keep eating cheddar cheese (moderate inflammatory) you might want to reconsider since its going to attribute to your inflammation and pain. It is amazing that we take pain pills and anti-inflammatories, but don't think that what we eat is a drug! You can do a lot to improve your systemic health by making good nutritional choices.

I have had the strangest and most unexpected experience with what inflammation can do to the body.
I had a bad tooth I kept medicating with antibiotics instead taking care of it because I HATE dentists!
Well, finally, I HAD to have it taken out because I don't do root canals anymore.
What I noticed within a couple days was that my raging neck, shoulder, and backache from carrying too big of a box of books that ended up being dropped from the pain was mostly gone. It was kind of a "huh? what happened?" moment. Well, it is 10 days later and my back problems are still gone. The only thing I can attribute the sudden healing to is the removal of the tooth..

Dental health is very important too.....when they are issues there it can affect the entire body system! Sorry to hear it was that bad, but at least you are feeling better! I have impacted molars that I cannot afford to remove and I get bad headaches sometimes!

Have you tried one of the places that have an in-house dental plan for like $59 a year that also has an in-house oral surgeon?
There are significant savings to be had going that route.

I can up things right now. My back is sore. Yup, new badge of honor. I seizured on Wednesday, crashing into either a side table or a door frame. I had a huge welt for the rest of the day, it hurts to lie on my back, I'm constantly using ice rub, and drug store brand Robax pills and rubbing my lower back. Every now and then I give off the sound of a tire losing pressure (air) and I can't sit fully erect right away. I have a red mark on my lower back that looks like someone hit me with an iron (like in Home Alone) and bruising a plenty, all kinds of colors. Wednesday was the only day I didn't exercise because I was in too much pain. Nothing else is going to stop me from doing it this week - unless I have too many seizures that I can't control them. Then it's early bed time. :grumble: Other than that? What doesn't kill you, well, you know the rest!!!

I have a lame dental plan, but its also hard because i have no one one to pick me up from the dentist as they won't let you drive after.
