My husband is late coming home and I was VERY tired (for no reason either). My son just soaked the entire bathroom splashing in the tub which means more work for me. I feel angry and stressed and found myself looking around the kitchen for junk. So what i just did was I ate a handful of wasabi peas. They are hot as hell and burn my nostrils. I think this is equivalent to a shock collar for bad behavior- I simply need something really hot or really sour to snap me out of it!

That's a great trick!! I also found that chugging water helps.0

I agree, water and gum!
I always tend to binge when I'm tired. I feel like my mind just wants a break and loses control when I've had a long day and am exhausted. Sometimes, it's this frustration that needs to be let out by chewing and that's why I feel habits like chewing gum work so well.0 -
Being tired and being bored are my triggers too. I love the idea of gum! I have a very long commute (over an hour each way) and I have found myself hitting fast food drive thru's on the way to soothe myself while passing the time. And then my other bad time is in the evening, when I'm tired from the long day and commute, but not ready to just go to sleep. My newest plan for that time period is to watch an episode or two of Mad Men, I just watched the first episode last weekend :-)0
