Breakfast

I've found that if I don't hit around 500 calories for breakfast I almost never catch up to my goal by the end of the day. The goal of large/double breakfast begins!

Today:
Breakfast 1:
Fage greek yogurt
rasberries
walnuts
flax and honey

Breakfast 2, about 2 hours later:
eggs
salsa
cheddar

I've found that hitting a minimum of 500 for breakfast is easy. A cup of oats with a banana is easily over 600 cals.

I did add oats to my smoothie the other morning and that got the numbers up. I'm trying to limit my grains though...

A bowl of granola cereal and a protein shake made with fruit juice is ~670 cal.

Soaked chia seeds are a great substitute for oats if you're trying to avoid grains or gluten. You just soak them in any liquid (milk works perfectly) for 40 minutes or longer, overnight if you like, and they swell up a ton.
