Where is your favorite place to get away from it all? Mine is the beach - any beach with clear water, fine sand, and palm trees! :drinker:

I don't have a single favorite. But anywhere with stuff to do and a golf course. I prefer mountains and hiking over beaches, to damn crowded.0 -
I have never been there for "Vacation" per se, BUT I worked out of French Polynesia and my Favourite Island is Huahine. Its very Natural, quiet, Coral reef for great snorkeling, and was my get-away place. When I Meditate, that is the place I go to, the beach in Huahine!0

I like to be anywhere that involves the ocean, swimming in the ocean, on a ship on the ocean, on the beach near an ocean!0

I also love the ocean and beach. Favorite location is probably Cozumel...fabulous diving, Mexican food, margaritas...What's not to love?0

I'm pretty random. Right now I'm all about the mountains likely because I live by the beach. I lived in Miami for a long time, so anything tropical isn't so special which kinda sucks. Cayman Islands were pretty and peaceful. The most exotic and memorable trip I took was to Morocco and I would love to go to Istanbul and Costa Rica. I'd love to go to South Africa, but that's an expensive trip so sidebar dream for when I hit the lotto. Ireland is on my list because I have relatives there I've never met who are supposed to be a bunch of lushes and own a pub! Whoot!
I have one week off for July 4th and was supposed to be moving, but that's not happening so my moving money is looking pretty sweet right now! :bigsmile:0 -
I live in a beach town, so as much as I enjoy it, I also like getting away from it and going to new places too!0

Any place that is new and not crowded.
My favorite that I have been to is probably Salzburg, Austria.0 -

Agree, especially like getting away from the beach traffic every weekend.0 -
Definitely some kind of wilderness. The thought of being completely unplugged and exploring and discovering new things on my own schedule is appealing to me. No worries about hotel reservations or restaurants or cabs or being at this place at this time ... that's relaxing to me.0

I am all about exploring new places, so most of my vacations are spent going to new places. But I always love going back up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Waterfalls, wilderness and just peacefulness.0

I really love the beach and being next to the water... in the sun. I've always enjoyed it since I was a kid. My dad would take us up to Long Island and we'd have this huge cooler and my mom had this big blanket to lay down. She always had sandwiches packed. We'd make sand castles all day and try to bury each other. To this day it's still the most simple vacation to me but the best.0

I love going to the beach (Tybee Island) in the off season but in the summer I like going "up north" to a cabin or camping or canoeing.0
-
This time of year, pretty much any beach on Lake Michigan0
-
Cozumel, Mexico snorkeling off the barrier reef...simply amazing. Hoping the snorkeling and beach will be just as good in the Bahamas in about 6 weeks!!!0

Vegas or Miami Beach. Sleep all day party all night0

I'm a big drunk kid... Epcot during the food and wine festival, where drinking around the world can actually kill you.0

I love anywhere with a beach..
OR
A badass theme park with lots of crazy roller coasters. I've wanted to go to Cedar Point for years!0 -
Every year, I go to Concan to tube the Frio & dance @ Garner! It'll never get old... just have more fun when the water is actually flowing.0

Underwater is a great place to really get away from it all. I haven't been diving in almost 2 years now, I really need to get back out there.
Cageless diving with the bull sharks in Fiji was my favorite.0 -
San Diego. I have gone every July for almost 5 years. I visit friends that live there and we all attend San Diego Comic-con.
oh forgot to add, I also love Fred's. Mexican food place that has seafood/lobster tacos. :drinker:0 -

That reminds me, Ive kept seeing advertising for Cedar Point for the past week. I have to look up how close it is for my next trip.
Most of my beach trips these days are around midnight for a slice of beach pizza. Mmm Mmm Good.0 -
I'd like to find some cool places I can take my dog on mini-vacation. Tahoe is always nice, and I'm hoping to get out camping more this summer.
Most of my friends just want to get drunk and break things / people. That's fun and all, but I'm sort of over the binge drinking thing.0 -
MEXICO!!! Have always loved going there.0

Exactly my thought.....and I also have wanted to make it to cedar point for many years!!!0 -
I've never been to a typical vacation spot, but most years, my family goes up to a resort and rents a cabin. So relaxing chilling by the lake, swimming, etc. I am not the type of person to go on vacation and do a bunch of stuff - I'd rather sit with friends/family and read a good book and soak up the sunshine.
I did go to Glacier once and that was awesome.0 -
I just booked a mini vacation to go white water rafting and zip lining at this place if anyone is looking for something fun/active in the southern states:
