Hello,

I hope I can join in with your group :)

I am 33 and have chronic leg/arm pain, mostly on my right hand side. I have not been officially diagnosed but my Neurologist found a few areas of concern on my last head MRI and I now need a lumbar puncture :( I have problems with my lumbar spine and it is thought that i have bulging discs and maybe other issues (going for another MRI to diagnose). It has also been suggested that i may have CFS to some extent too! I get pain, numbness and pins and needles and have medication that helps a little.

Due to these issues, i have real difficulty exercising. Some days are better than others and i do try to go to my pilates class once per week even if it does put me into agony!!

Anyway... thats me and my dysfunctional body! However i do need to lose some weight, but it is so difficult with these restrictions. I'd love any advice you have or ideas of how to get rid of these extra pounds of fat!

I hope you are all well and it will be nice getting to know you all :)

Hi, I'm Kim. Sorry to have to meet you on the Chronic pain forum. I know how much it stinks to want to lose weight and not have the energy to exercise, and when you do have the energy, it hurts so darn bad. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you can get some answers with the testing you're having done. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like. I'm always looking for people to join me on my journey to a healthy life.

You can add me as friend, and this goes for everyone else who also suffer Chronic pain. I not only have fibro for nearly 11 yrs diagnosed I know it started even earlier than that, but combine that with heart issues, fibro and lympedema where exercise just swells your arms, legs, calves, ankles even further. Lymphedema is not a pretty sight and over 3 million people have it. I did not know what it was and kept taking diuretic like lasix to remove it and the swelling would not go down. Lympedema is has no known cure my left wrist is 2 inches bigger than my right wrist, I know i measured it today. Lymphedema is blockage of the lymphatic system and where ever it is makes either your arms, legs, ankles swell where your skin feels tight and painful. I have put on extra weight comforting myself with wrong high carb foods so I am taking control over the one thing I can control healthy food choices and for me that is low carb eating no more than 50 carbs is my constant goal.

I watch others exercise and oh so badly want to be able to do it but I doubt unless a cure is found it will ever be possible. No one unless they have Chronic fatigue combined with Chronic pain will ever understand. Sometimes the energy level is so low I wonder how my heart continues to beat. People take energy for granted, even normal body functions takes energy. I have taken a extended vacation for undetermined amount of days because the stress of all these health crisis rolled into one just got too much for me to handle. There are many days I cannot leave my bed.
