Hi everyone, well tonight was my first time to bike ride using an app for the iphone called endomondo, it was so wonderful, it keeps track of your miles/distance traveled and so forth, there is even a voice that tells you when each mile has gone by and how you have done.
At home you go on your account on the computer and there are all these graphs, that break it all down for you so you can really see how you did.
I just need to find a better way to carry my phone, I am thinking of getting one of those iphone holders for the handlebars.Any suggestions that you might have on that.
Well we rode 10.54 miles, its a personal best, we have been bike riding for 3 weeks, and we have mountain bike tires, so we are going to have to change that soon to more road tires.
I just love biking and am so glad we started this.

Biologic do good iPhone holders, as do Wahoo Fitness.
I have both!
I use Cyclemeter, which is a very good cycling app! For increased accuracy you might want to look at adding a speed & cadence monitor and perhaps a heart rate monitor (Wahoo do these!)0 -
Thanks Cloggsy fpr the heads up on the places to get iphone holders, it seems that this biking is getting to be a expensive thing if you are not careful...I LOVE IT!!!!!!
I have so many things I want, first of all is tires as I am riding a mtn bike on roads, and have been told it will be a lot easier with road tires...0 -
If you want to use your iPhone to track yourself and all of the fun stuff that we do on bikes, I HIGHLY recommend looking at the Wahoo Fitness Bike pack. I have it, plus the HRM, and love it. It's transformed the way I ride. Check it out! It isn't cheap at $149, but it does allow you to integrate speed/cadence with the HRM on your phone and gives plenty of data. The case itself appears nearly bulletproof. I just purchased the extended battery pack for mine, it actually charges the phone while you are riding, preventing the nearly dead battery at the end of a long ride. I love their stuff!

+1 - I have The Speed & Cadence sensor and the Heart rate monitor (in conjunction with the iPhone), it's awesome! I have the ANT+ kit, but they now do Bluetooth connectivity (which alleviates the requirement for the ANT+ attachment for the phone.)
Have a look at the Wahoo Fitness videos on YouTube0 -
