Any other tall women feel awkward joining exercise classes? I used to go to Tai Chi, but I was always out of sync with the rest of the group becauase my stride was so much longer, LOL. I'm not much of a group person but I feel I could probably benefit from joining some gentle classes - however I'm a bit put off by the tai chi experience - nade me feel like the lanky tallest girl in the school all over again! Anyone feel the same, ofr felt the same and overcome it?

  • Definitely! I always feel the same when I join a class. Being the tallest makes you stand out so when you go wrong it is more obvious!

I used to go to yoga which is better. It's so slow and relaxing that there is no problem with keeping up. And much of it is done sitting/lying down so you stand out less. The only issue is not fitting on the mat and needing more space around you!

The thing I like least about exercise classes is the mirrors! I hate seeing how much I tower over everyone else lol. But I definitely know what you mean about being out of sync. There is this one exercise instructor that always gets on me to do longer lunges, have a wider stance, etc because I'm that much taller. Ugh...way to draw attention to my height lol
