Kim, I hope you don't mind me starting this thread.

I must admit when my alarm went off at 7am, I wasn't feeling it. I was tired. I'm on vacation. I should be able to enjoy it, sleep in...use no alarms. I hit snooze a few times and then turned the alarm off altogether. I told myself I would take the kids to the pool and do exercises in there. I knew that by getting up at 8:10, I wouldn't make it to the 8:30 class.

As I drink my tea, I look at the Y schedule. The class is at 9:30, not 8:30. So.....I'm finishing up my pb and banana sandwich and about to change into my suit and head for my class.

I soooooooooooooooooooooo wanted to not go. I *convinced* myself that I needed a day off. Funny how that didn't work out!

My point? Get up and move!!!! :)

I am glad that it worked out for you, it would have been worse if you had gotten up early got to the pool and then found out that you had to wait another hour :) Woo hoo, awesome way to keep working out while on vacation, you go girl!

Bonus! The indoor pool was closed so we had the class outside. I then decided to stay for the 10:30 class--it is for older active adults; but it was still a great workout. Came home and went over to the pool in our community. I did more exercises in there.

I must remember how good I feel after I exercise the next time I want to "skip" a class.

:drinker: :flowerforyou: YAY! Thanks for starting a thread! That is what I want! I have been wondering why people haven't been adding threads! LOL

Hear that people! START THREADS< ABOUT ANYTHING! Get ACTIVE ! :D

Good for you for going to your class! It is hard at times, but that is just the mind, not what our body actually wants! :)

Here is a great quote about it:

 Listen to Your Body, Not Your Mind

“Your body knows better! On days when you don't feel like working out, that's your mind talking. Your body yearns for movement, circulation, and healing. When I'm having one of those days, I'll take a few moments just to breathe well, and invariably, my arms want to stretch and I might press my hands into a wall and lengthen my spine—anything. And it always feels better.” –Elena Brower, founder of ViraYoga in New York City

    Kim, what is barre?

Hmmm, good question! It's basically ballet barre type workouts, but really focusing on toning the trunk. IE from the ribcage (right under the breast) all the way down to the thigh! It's all isolation work and amazing to lift, tuck and tone!

I do cardio and then barre about 4 times a week! I also teach it which is why I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Sounds like a great workout! I've noticed that my core is getting stronger. I focus on staying straight/vertical when we are doing exercises in the deep end. I fall over during some of the moves and I laugh at myself. Gotta have fun, right?
