How is everyone doing ?

I wish today had been the weigh in day. I dropped another pound from yesterday's weigh in. I'm only .2 lbs from lowest weight ever on MFP. I hope this is the beginning of a weight loss trend and not just a teaser. It's almost TOM, so I will be working hard not to retain a lot of water.0

this challenge has helped me in so many ways, i havent loss all the weight i wanted yet but thats ok cause i have changed my life more then diet per day or week. Everyone who may havent loss that much dont worry if you put in the hard work you will see results. but if you fail, fail successfully, keep your head high and realize you can do it and your day will come and start losing the weight. as far as next challenge it sounds good for me0

Can i just ask, when 8th July rolls around - would anyone like to join me again for another 6 week 10lbs challenge - i'd actually like to compete in one rather than completely fail! xx
Kind of late in responding to this, but I would love to keep going for another 6 weeks. Despite meeting my exercise and eating goals, I've only lost 2 pounds so far, so I was going to keep going anyway and would love to have this group to help keep me accountable.
For those of you struggling, one thing that has helped me is setting some rules/parameters for myslef. I'm not very good at doing things half way, like I'll have just one cookie type thing. I'll have one, then another, then another, etc. So there are certain things that I'll have off limit for a period of time. And if I'm going out, I'll estimate what calories I have left to use for the day and before I go out I'll plan what I'm going to eat. Most places you can get grilled chicken or fish, baked potato or salad. Stuff like that. I don't even look at the rest of the menu, I pretty much decide what I'm getting before I go. It doesn't always work, but it helps. Oh, and if you like wine, it seems to be less calories than mixed drinks, so I try to stick to that when I go out. It doesn't alway work - last week I went out for Mexican food and swore I wouldn't eat any chips and then had quite a few. It is a daily challenge.
One last thing, it is pretty cool to look and see how much weight we have all lost on this challenge. Pretty amazing!0 -
I'm not doing well. I have been exercising and eating right and haven't lost anything. I think I am actually up a pound from the start weight. I haven't entered my weight for the past two weeks because I am just too frustrated to do it. I am trying not to let the disappointment and frustration and anger be a reason to just not care anymore. There is no way on earth I will be losing 10 pounds by July 8th.
The things I will be doing for the next few weeks to try to stay on track: continue swimming lessons (four days a week), add a couple of weights sessions per week, continue with the twice or thrice weekly elliptical sessions. I really don't think I can reduce calories anymore without starving myself - I am at 1200 calories a day and I do eat back most of my exercise calories, though some days I don't so that maybe makes up for the day or two of the week that I go over. We do go out to dinner once a week, usually so that day I definitely go over but I don't go overboard. I have a glass of wine a couple of times a week, but that is factored in to my calorie count. I generally don't log calories on the weekend because I am on the go with my family, but with the exception of going out to dinner on Saturday night, I eat about the same as I do on the weekdays. I don't know what else to do. I guess I will just quit having expectations of losing and just be happy I am not gaining, though it does make it hard to stick to the plan.
I just read your post after entering mine and see that you are a fellow wine drinker! Anyway, just wanted to say that I too am working out, eating 1,200 calories per day, eating back exercise calories for the most part. I gained a pound last week after my best week in months and it is very frustrating. I wasn't going to put my weight in and was embarrassed too, but did late yesterday. I'm just encouraging you to stay involved and stick with it. You probably are losing some weight but not a lot so the results aren't obvious every week. I set a goal to stick with this through July 8th, take a few "days off" and eat a little more than I have been, and then start another 6 week cycle. Also, it might help to go ahead and record all your weekend calories. I was giving myself a "free" day each week and wan't losing anything. When I went back and looked at what I was eating and how quickly those calories added up, I think it was hurting my weekly average and hurting my weight loss. When we are dealing with so few calories available each day, a slight variation here and there can hurt our efforts more than others who are able to eat more. Just a thought. Good luck.0 -
Thanks for the reply - I really appreciate the encouraging words. I am leaving tomorrow for a short trip and will not be as in control of my food as I would like (all restaurants all the time!) I will be bringing apples and other nibbles that will help me control my appetite for the bad stuff and am going to do my best when ordering. I'm still committed, as this is definitely how I want to continue eating in the future but it is really terribly frustrating to be stagnating before I have really lost much weight at all. I'm really trying to focus on the health aspect of it at the moment, incorporating different kinds of exercise, somewhat healthier food choices and smaller portions and hoping that the weight loss will follow at some point.0

Great motivation. I am logging lots of exercise and staying strong. I want at least 2 more pounds before deadline, July8, 2012. I am putting all my effort!0 -
After reading most of the above, I almost feel guilty saying I feel awesome. I love the food I am eating because I am eating the same foods I always ate (just less of it) and do not add the extras like sour cream on the potatoes or mayo on everything. I never used to eat breakfast and now am enjoying my morning oatmeal with my newspaper (which never used to get read either). I do either Jillian Michaels or Leslie Sansone workout videos EVERY day. Even when I don't want to, I make myself. No excuses. Excuses is what got me overweight in the first place. I have lost 9 1/2 lbs since May 15 (7 1/2 since starting this challenge) and am really really hoping to hit 10 by the 8th of July. My husband tells me how proud of my determination he is almost every day and has remarked how he is getting his happy sexy gorgeous wife back. My grandkids were here yesterday and I spent hours chasing around outside after them and Loved it. I only hope this keeps up. I know I will plateau soon and will need encouragement from all of you, but for right now, I am doing great
It was lovely to read how well you're doing, no need to feel guilty at all obviously! Keep doing what you're doing, you're quite the inspiration!0 -
Ah i love you lot! I especially like this: "I can have all the support in the world but if I am not self motivated I will never hit my goals"
Thanks clever man, you hit the nail on the head for me.
I've gradually gotten back to it this week. Hopped on the scale this morning to check to see if i'd gained again (i'd reached 160lbs from a starting point of about 176.8) however, i've somehow managed to get it down to 158.8 again. BF is down too, from a whopping 42% (scary) to 41% (still scary) so thats a boost.
I also started the running group successfully, did 2 runs this week, both over 500cals and i have new funky trainers to stop my ankles rolling in.
So i'm feeling much better.
I'm so pleased you've all said yes to going for round 2 after the 8th July - i'll just change the name of the group to reflect the new dates etc. I'll also add in new columns in the spreadsheet and i'll probably delete everyone who hasn't updated at all. I'll keep that total loss going though. That's amazing!
Thank you everyone, you're all lovely x0 -
I have a little over one pound to go! I started this journey when school let out (I teach) and I will be seeing a group of them onnMonday. Hoping to hit my goal a couple days early .0

Hey all - I haven't weighed myself but I feel pretty dang good - enjoying that I moved down a size My "diet" seems to be going ok - have had a few non-diet, non-healthy (processed) items but I was able to work them into my plan. I've been walking a little more than I was walking a month ago, so that's a step in the right direction. I think that as long as most of my days are filled with "clean eating" rather than processed stuff, I'll be okay. May the force (of positive thinking) be with you all
Stay focus and remember 8% of your diet will lead you to more success. One more week to give it all your power!0 -

Thank you!! I think I will finally say good byes to my last 5 pounds by joining this group again. I have to admit, I am working extremely hard working out, Brazil Butt Program and extra cardio and reducing calories as well. Great job everyone, let's keep it going!0 -
This group has really helped to keep me motivated!! I love it! I wasn't sure I would lose the full ten lbs, I just wanted to use it to keep me going hard! This morning I hit 10.2 lbs lost during this challenge. Very excited! I would love to do this again!!0

I've lost 2lbs this week which puts me at 7.8lbs for this challenge. This is the last week and I have 2.2lbs to hit the 10lb goal. I'm hoping I can do it, but either way I am happy the scale just keeps going down0
-
I joined the challenge to help motivate me to lose the last 10 lbs I needed to hit my goal weight. And I managed to lose the 10 lbs! Keep going everyone!0

I've lost 2lbs this week and that's 7lbs so far. I think 3lbs before next Sunday is too much to hope for but I'm going to try my hardest. Would love to carry on so please add me to the new spreadsheet. TVM x0

Hi all. Glad to see lots of you had a great week! For myself, it was also a successful week. I hit the gym 5 times, ate well, and stayed on course. I ended up with a loss of 3.4 lbs for the week for a total of 12 lbs over the 5 weeks to date!! Also, as a result of this loss, I hit the 20 lb loss mark since I started this change on May 13, and also this week I broke through the 200 lb mark, now down to 198 lbs! So overall I am very happy with my progress and I remain committed to this lifestyle change. Good luck to all of you in the last week of the challenge!!0

CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING TO ONEDERLAND CRUISINSKIER!!!!
I'm feeling pretty good about this challenge. 1.5lbs to go to make the 10lbs by next Sunday. I really plan to work hard for it this week and look forward to celebrating with everyone who took part in this challenge. I feel we've all succeeded by working toward a shared goal.
I look forward to starting a new one as well and look forward to doing this again with such a great group.0 -
Another 1.5lbs down this week. Made the 10, 11.2lbs in total. Will really try and work hard for the final week and look forward to our next challenge.:drinker:0
