New friends and an introduction

Hello all!
I'm fairly new here and I've posted a little but I wanted to introduce myself and make some friends. My name is M, short for Emily. I'm 29 and at the beginning stages of recovery from EDNOS restrictive type. I've been out of hospital treatment for almost 6 weeks now and I'm doing... alright. Theoretically I'm supposed to be gaining a little bit of weight or maintaining my current weight. Basically anything but losing. I'd like supportive friends who don't compliment me if I lose! :-p I'm here every day and I'm supportive of everyone's path so feel free to add me if you like. Have a good day and be gentle to yourself!

Hi M, that's a good point you make about not wanting to be complimented if you loose weight, I also was wondering about that for I thought that it may actually be something that is triggering. I for that reason don't compliment anyone that I know is low bmi or is struggling to keep a healthy weight. I would rather encourage and support you when it's needed. I think you are courageous and it shows a lot of strength for you to tell others your struggle and to be honest with exactly where you are today. I for one value you as a MFP friend on here!0

Thank you! I need to hear that today actually. :-) I've enjoyed getting to know you as well here. Thank goodness for people who "get it!"0

Yes for sure! Thank goodness for people who get it!
Recovering from an ED takes a lot of work, and your group of people in your corner is usually pretty small as it's only a few people who will understand you and support you. Even family get tired of it all and they don't really get it completely. We have some family members that think you should just ' get on with your life" etc.
I really enjoy getting to know the other members on here that are also part of the "disordered " group or the "recovering from an Ed" group as from what I can see, they ( incl yourself ) may be fragile but also at the same time show amazing strength.
I believe that those of us who have gone through a ED, where ever we are in the walk have had to do some very deep personal reflecting, know ourselves better and are more honest with ourselves and if we allow it honest with those we can trust .
The experience of the ED ends up making us an even more peculiar creature, in that we are very delicate, layered, and beautiful at the same time!
Here's one of my favorite quotes:
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

It's time for you to blossom M !
