Happy Monday!

Hi everyone! It was quiet on this group this weekend. Hope everyone had a good one and is doing ok.

I'm off to work in a bit. Teacher work day with parent orientation-so I don't go into 11:45. I'll be teaching summer school M-F July 9-Aug 3. I officially start back on Aug 15 with about a week of training/setting up classroom.

I tried to find some exercises to do at home. I found on Youtube a pilates video that I did years (I mean, years) ago. I knew I could probably do it since I was able to do most of it back then. It is only 23 min. so I'm thinking I should be able to do it before work. I also attempted to do some arm exercises--man those 5lb. weights felt like a hundred! I will get stronger. I'll eat before leaving for work and I'm bringing a salad and some fruit and 5 ginger snap cookies (they are already counted and put into baggies).

Hope everyone has a great day!

Great job working out at home dnunny! I had a busy weekend. One of the things I did was go to a raw, vegan, gluten free, dairy free restaurant with my friend who is vegan. We shared a lasagna and a pizza (neither of them looked or tasted like what they were called). The food was ok in flavor, we also split a peach cobber (again nothing like its name) which was rather tasty. We had a good time visiting, but not a place I would go to to actually eat, seemed more like appetizers and then I was ready to eat :) got home and made a ground turkey burrito with an actual tortilla, cheese and hot sauce.

Another out of the box thing I did was go with some younger friends and see Magic Mike. I am not into nakedness at all, but again made the best of it and had fun with friends. It was quite funny to hear all the ladies hooting at the screen when I was trying to hold back the laughs at how silly people look with just a little bit of clothes on.....

I hope the quiteness means everyone is enjoying their summer with fun, healthy activties! That to me is one of the best things about losing weight and creating healthy life style, is all the energy to do fun stuff we may have avoided in the past, like biking , swimming and walking outside on summer nights.!

I worked this weeked, but I was able to get in my 1st yoga session! Thanks to some suggestions from KimWins( thanks again) I was able to find the perfect yoga routine on Yoga journal.com. It was in the beginner section and was the right lenght and speed. Felt great afterward!

Now I am off to stock the fridge with Healthy food for the Week. :)

I have spent the weekend on my bike getting ready for a camping trip on my mountain bike this coming weekend. I even rode to work today which always helps Mondays get off to a good start.

    Dozie--thanks--I will look into that!

I'm Losing--I had to chuckle at you making a meal when you got home. Magic Mike isn't something I'm going to see anytime soon. Maybe when it comes out on DVD and my family isn't home (well my kids).

I got some compliments today! I've been out of work for about a month and most of the people I saw haven't seen me. I was told I looked refreshed (I have a tan--I do wear sunscreen!); one coworker told me that she could see where I have lost inches. We've shared before about our knees and such. I had one parent (it was parent orientation for summer school) tell me I looked so refreshed...I told her that's what vacation does! LOL

It may seem shallow, but I did enjoy the compliments. It's been a long time since I had that. Well I got home at 7 and I must spend time with my husband...it is his bday and I haven't seen him much today.
